Circle of The Primals

You are a druid who has become fascinated with the history of creatures that time has forgotton. You spend your time studying the ancient and powerful forms of creatures that most believe have long since left the world. In doing so you have begun a journey of rediscovery as your druidic powers shift to better suit your more savage and primal nature...

Primal should be understood to refer to the animals listed in this subclass.

Primal Adaptation

At 2nd level you have learned how life adapts over time to a new environment and can apply this knowledge to your primal form. Chose one Primal Adaptation and apply it to your primal forms from now on.

Primal Aquatic: Gain a swim speed equal to your land speed, hold your breath for 3 minutes + your constitution modifier, you cannot be surprised underwater and you gain advantage on checks to avoid being grappled or escape a grapple.

Primal Grassland: Use dash as a bonus action, you no longer require rations while traveling in primal form as long as the terrain has plants (if in an herbivorous shape) or supports animal life (if in a predatory form).

Primal Forest: Gain a climb speed equal to your land speed, advantage on stealth checks in natural terrain and you ignore rough terrain caused by vegetation.

Primal Desert: Gain resistance to fire damage, you cannot gain exhaustion from dehydration or environmental hazards related to heat and you ignore rough terrain caused by sand.

Primal Tundra: Gain resistance to cold damage, you gain advantage on rolls to avoid exhaustion from starvation, you cannot gain exhaustion from environmental hazards related to cold and you ignore rough terrain caused by snow or ice.

Primal Forms

Starting at 2nd level you can transform into a primal animal with a challenge rating of 1. At 6th level this changes to a cr as high as your druid level divided by 3, rounded down.(you ignore the Max. CR column of the Beast Shapes Table). You lose the ability to transform into any creatures that are not primal but may stay in a primal form for 1 hour per druid level you posses. The rituals and study of your circle fill you with the knowledge necessary to use these forms and you do not need to personally see them or their fossils.

Primal Strength

At 6th level you gain the true strength of a primal beast and your attacks in primal form count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. Your connection to your forms has also grown stronger and if you would be forced to return to change out of primal form by means other than dropping to 0 hit points or dying, you can make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, you remain in your primal form.

Primal Spirit

At 10th level your connection to the primal spirits has grown, and with it your understanding of your primal forms. You can now expend 2 uses of wildshape to take a maximum CR primal form equal to half your druid level.

Primal Avatar

At 14th level you have learned how to adapt to more than one enviroment. Choose a second primal adaptation. You may not choose Primal Desert if you already posses Primal Tundra or vice versa.

Primal Ascension (optional)

At 20th level you ascend the limitations of nature. When you take Primal Form add the following features. Gain +10 Str, Dex and Con, +4 ac, and Resistance to Slashing, Piercing and Bludgeoning nonmagical attacks. Gain Advantage on saves to stay in Primal form. You may use this ability 1/long rest. This feature replaces Archdruid
