Eldritch Shield

Abjuration cantrip

You summon a spectral shield made from eldritch runes that protects you from the next attack made against you. While the shield is protecting you, it sheds bright light in a 5-foot radius and dim light for an additional 5 feet. When you take damage from an attack, reduce the damage by 1d6 and the spell ends.

Upon reducing the damage of an attack, you may use your reaction to cause the shards of the shield to strike a creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take force damage equal to your spellcasting modifier.

Additionally, the spell ends early if you try casting it again or if you become incapacitated.

The spell's damage reduction increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).

Eldritch Invocations

At 2nd level, a warlock gains the Eldritch Invovations feature. Here are new options for that feature.

If an eldritch invocation has a prerequisite, you must meet it to learn the invocation. You can learn the invocation at the same time that you meet its prerequisite. A level prerequisite refers to your level in this class.

Boon of the Aegis

Prerequisite: eldritch shield cantrip

When you cast eldritch shield as an action, you can choose an ally you can see within 30 feet of you to benefit from the spell instead of yourself. The creature uses their reaction to trigger the attack of the spell using your spell save DC.

Eldritch Guard

Prerequisite: eldritch shield cantrip

You add half your warlock level to the damage reduced by eldritch shield.

Overwhelming Nova

Prerequisite: 5th level, eldritch shield cantrip

When you reduce damage with eldritch shield, you can choose a number of creatures up to half your proficiency bonus that can see you and are within 10 feet of you. A target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or be blinded until the end of your next turn. You can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Shield of Fortune

Prerequisite: 9th level, eldritch shield cantrip

When you take damage from an attack, you can choose to cast eldritch shield as a reaction to reduce the damage. You can do so a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier. You regain all uses of this ability after you finish a long rest.

Vengeful Ward

Prerequisite: 7th level, eldritch shield cantrip

When you strike a creature with eldritch shield, add the total reduced damage from the spell to the attack's damage.
