Angel Wings

This spell cannot be selected as it is a gift of the angels. It does not count against known or prepared spells but is always available as if it were. You use whichever ability you already use for spellcasting. If you do not have a spellcasting ability, Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for this spell.

You can cast the spell without expending a spell slot. Once you cast the spell in this way, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest, though you can still cast it normally using an available spell slot.

Your DM can lift the restriction to better suit the campaign. The restriction reflects the setting for which this spell was developed, but it might not apply to your DM's setting. If so, it is the DM's decision which classes have access to the spell.

Angel Wings

3rd-level evocation

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: 90 feet
  • Components: V, S
  • Duration: 1 round

You whisper a short prayer of retribution as two wings of pure magic spread from your back and fly forth to tear through your foes. Choose two creatures within range that are within 15 feet of each other, or choose one creature within range to be targeted by both wings. Make a ranged spell attack for each wing. On a hit, the target takes 3d8 radiant damage.

A target that is hit by at least one wing must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, it is outlined by a soft glow that lasts until the end of your next turn. The next attack roll made against each affected target before the end of your next turn has advantage, and the affected target can’t benefit from being invisible until the glow dissipates.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a 4th- or 5th-level spell slot, the damage of each wing increases to 4d8. When you cast it using a 6th- or 7th-level spell slot, the damage increases to 5d8. When you cast it using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, the damage increases to 6d8.
