### Thug Thugs are ruthless enforcers skilled at intimidation and violence. They often work for money and have few scruples. Thugs rarely work alone, taking advantage of their allies' presence to be more effective in social dealings and in combat. #### Blunt Force When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you learn to fight your opponents head on with unrestrained violence. Your Sneak Attack can be used on attacks made with any simple melee weapon that you are wielding in one hand. #### Thug Tactics Starting at 3rd level, you can use the bonus action granted by your Cunning Action to attempt to shove or grapple a creature within your reach. Additionally, you have advantage on Strength checks made to grapple or shove the creature while at least one of your allies is within 5 feet of the creature and isn't incapacitated. Such allies also gain this benefit while you are within 5 feet of the creature and aren't incapacitated. #### Bonus Proficiency When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill; if you are already proficient, you gain proficiency in one other skill of your choice. #### The Hard Way Starting at 9th level, you excel at using violence and threats to get your way. You have advantage on checks using the Intimidation skill made against a creature if one or more of the following conditions are met: - The creature is prone. - You or one of your allies are grappling the creature. - You or one of your allies is brandishing a weapon. #### City Savvy By 13th level, your experience in dark alleys and shady neighborhoods allow you to recognize the signs of an impending ambush. You can't be surprised while you are conscious, and you have advantage on checks made to notice hidden creatures and to spot when a fight is about to start. #### Cheap Shot Starting at 17th level, you jab at ribs, poke eyes, and generally find the most painful or debilitating spot to strike your enemies, causing them to stagger at the pain. When you deal your Sneak Attack damage to a creature via a melee attack, that creature's speed drops to 0 until the end of your next turn.
