## Monastic Tradition
# Way of the Blademaster The Way of the Blademaster is one that values skill above all else, for mastery of the blade demands mastery over oneself. Sometimes called blade dancers, monks of this archetype make combat appear a graceful performance; the battlefield a canvas for their art, which they paint with the blood of their enemies. #### Superior Swordsmanship When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Acrobatics. If you are already proficient, you can double your proficiency bonus on Acrobatics checks. You also gain proficiency in longswords, rapiers, and scimitars, which are considered monk weapons for you. You can use monk swords (swords that are monk weapons for you) to Deflect Missiles, and you can make attacks with them in place of unarmed strikes, using your Martial Arts die instead of your weapon's damage die. #### Blade Surge At 3rd level, you dance across the battlefield with every strike. As part of an attack you make with a monk sword or Deflect Missiles, you can move up to your bonus Unarmored Movement before making the attack, provided you can end this movement within 5 feet of the target. While moving in this way, you don't provoke opportunity attacks, and you can move through the target's space as if it were difficult terrain. During your turn, every foot you travel in this way costs a foot of your movement. If you do this with the attack you make with Deflect Missiles, you attack with your monk sword instead. \columnbreak
#### Duel of Steel At 6th level, you can deflect melee attacks with your blade. Using a monk sword, you can spend 1 ki point to use Deflect Missiles on a melee attack that hits you. If you reduce the attack's damage to 0, you can make a melee weapon attack against the attacker as part of that reaction. Additionally, your attacks with a monk sword count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage. #### Flurry of Blades At 11th level, you overwhelm the enemy with a thousand cuts. When a creature you can see misses you with an attack, it provokes an opportunity attack from you. Whenever you use your reaction to attack with a monk sword, you can make a second attack with it against a creature you can see. #### Omnislash At 17th level, you unlock a technique that no other swordsman can master. As an action, you can spend 6 ki points to unleash a flurry of strikes. Choose up to five targets you can see within 30 feet of you, then make a melee attack against each target with your monk sword. On hit, a target takes 6d10 force damage. If there is only one hostile creature you can see within range, you can make two of these attacks against it instead of one. You can then teleport to an unoccupied space you can see within 5 feet of one of the targets you hit or missed.
