Deep Elves

"This day! This day we shall fight back the Demon Lord Linxoran! For Kolnaria, for the glory of the Wolflord!

— Parton Kynaris of Kolnaria

__

The Deep Elves were exiled by the Drow long ago, for not even Lolth could keep their faith. Banished to the Deep Underdark, they are not as evil as their cousins, but their might is great enough to keep back the hordes of the Abyss. Much of their culture is almost the exact opposite of the evil Dark Elves.

Deep Elves bear the same ebony skin as the Dark Elves, but differ in other aspects. Green, blue, silver, and gold eyes are common among them, rarely is there one born with silver, red, or purple eyes. Their hair is often brown, black, or silver, and sometimes gold or white. They are taller than most elves, the tallest being just over six feet tall.

Redeemed Exiles

They are a patriarchal society, where males rule. Only males can be Wolfpriests, although females may be Warlocks. They do not torture, but hunt their prisoners for sport, treating them as prey once caught. Deep Elf society is divided into packs, ruled by a Patron. They have names like Pack Linkor, Savris, or Kilivari. They ally with Gray Dwarves out of spite, and with Deep Gnomes out of mutual respect. They are known for raiding Drow settlements.

They despise the Drow for their ancient wrongs against them and worship Sepharil the Wolflord, a former Demon-turned-Celestial, and a god of the Hunt and nature. Unlike Lolth, he does not demand much from his followers, and they are devote enough to satisfy him.

Deep Elf Adventurers

Deep elves are almost never seen on the surface. A Deep elf adventurer is either an exile, or a scout.

Deep Elf Traits

Deep Elves have the following traits, in addition to the Elf Racial traits:

Superior Darkvision. Due to spending their entire lives in the Underdark, the Deep Elves, like their drow cousins, have excellent Darkvision. You have 120ft Darkvision.

Deep Magic. You know the Produce Flame cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast Hunter's Mark once, and it recharges after a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast Alter Self once, and it recharges after a long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Sunlight Sensitivity. Due to their enhanced vision, the Deep Elves have sensitive eyes that are blinded by sunlight. You have disadvantage on all Wisdom(Perception) checks while in sunlight or bright light.

Lords of the Night. As a bonus action, you can magically turn invisible until the start of your next turn or until you attack, make a damage roll, move into sunlight(or any other kind of bright light), or force someone to make a saving throw. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Languages. You can read and write Undercommon, Elvish, and Abyssal.

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Deep Elf Weapon Training. You have proficiency with the greatsword, longsword, hand crossbow, and scimitar.
