Sidekicks for SW5e
On your adventures, the GM might reveal that you’ve befriended a special character called a sidekick, who joins your party. This appendix presents the game statistics for sidekicks, of which there are three types:
- Forcecaster, a force-user who can cast powers to harm your foes or heal you and your friends. You may choose a light-side or dark-side focuses sidekick.
- Techcaster, an engineer who can cast tech powers to harm foes or aid allies.
- Expert, an agile and exceedingly helpful jack of all trades
- Warrior, a martial companion who specializes in striking your foes or defending you and your allies
The GM will either tell you which type of sidekick to use or let you choose one. It’s up to you and the GM to decide who controls the sidekick in play. You must also choose a Species for your sidekick, and add any relevant bonuses and traits.
These Sidekicks can also be leveled up along with your PCs according to the rules in the Dungeons and Dragons Starter Set rulebook.

Forcecaster Role Choose a role for the caster: forcecaster (light) or forecaster (dark). Your choice determines which casting trait to use below. Don't forget to add Species bonuses.
Forcecasting (light) The sidekick is a 1st-level forcecaster. Its forcecasting ability is Wisdom (power save DC 11, +3 to hit with force attacks) and it has 6 force points. The sidekick knows the following force powers: At-will: give life, guidance, spare the dying 1st-level: cloud mind, heal, project, valor
Forcecasting (dark) The sidekick is a 1st-level forcecaster. Its forcecasting ability is Charisma (power save DC 11, +3 to hit with force attacks) and it has 6 force points. The sidekick knows the following force powers: At-will: denounce, lightning charge, saber reflect, saber ward 1st-level: curse, hex, sap vitality

Techcasting The sidekick is a 1st-level techcaster. Its techcasting ability is Intelligence (power save DC 11, +3 to hit with tech attacks) and it has 4 tech points. The sidekick knows the following tech powers: At-will: electro shock, encrypted message, rime shot 1st-level: energy shield, homing rockets, repair droid, smoke cloud
Helpful. The sidekick can take the Help action as a bonus action.
