Blade of the Last Great Elf-King

Weapon (Longsword), Artifact (Requires Attunement by a Lawful Neutral aligned Wood-Elf)

This is the ancestral weapon of King Ezuri the King of the Elves from the Western Elven Kingdom. This sword has a blue-green blade with runes of its previous wielders marked into its surface. The hilt is gold and is decorated with leaf patterns.

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. It has the following additional properties.

Magic Weapon. This weapon functions as a Moonblade with the following 5 runes,

  • The moonblade gains the finesse property
  • When you hit fiend with the moonblade, the target takes an extra 1d6 slashing damage,
  • The moonblade gains the thrown property (range 20/60 feet). Immediately after the attack, the weapon flies back to your hand.
  • The moonblade scores a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20,
  • The moonblade functions as a vorpal sword.

Minor Beneficial Property. While attuned to the moonblade, you can use an action to cast druidcraft cantrip from it.

Lunar Magic. The power of the moon flows through this weapon and bestows its benefits upon the wielder. The wielder of this weapon can cast moonbeam as a seventh level spell once per long rest. To access this spell, the blade of the sword must be exposed to moonlight for at least five minutes during the night.

Beacon of Moonlight. This sword’s blade is made from lunar iron, a special metal crafted by the elves. The sword gains the beacon property. The light that it emits is considered moonlight.

  • Beacon. The bearer can use a bonus action to cause the item to shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional10 feet, or to extinguish the light.
