### Love Domain Clerics who represent the domain of love are concerned with the most meaningful bonds between beings: empathy; compassion; understanding; devotion. They often serve as counselors, mediators and translators. Though they seek to estrange themselves from hate and rage, all clerics of the love domain abhor two things in common: undead, which they see as perversions of the mortal forms that once held the spark of love; and fiends, whose very nature is anathema to love.
> ##### Make Love, Not War > Although some love deities do expect their followers to take vows of non-violence, it is not a defining feature of the domain. However, almost all love clerics are loathe to cause pain (excepting undead and fiends) and will seek to avoid it. > > Clerics of the love domain make great efforts to distinguish what they see as true love with the cheap imitation peddled by bards and enchanters. To that end, most love clerics refuse to use spells that coerce or command the free will of others.

| #### Lover's Intuition Your devotion to love affords you a preternatural attunement to others' emotional states. You gain proficiency with the Insight and Persuasion skills. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either skill. #### Selfless Act The love you feel for others drives you to share their burdens. Starting at 1st level, when a creature within 30 feet of you takes damage you may use your reaction to take half of the damage for them, creating a bond with them until the end of their next turn. This damage cannot be reduced in any way. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (a minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. #### Channel Divinity: Empathic Bond Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to forge bonds of love and compassion between creatures. As an action, you present your holy symbol and whisper the names of those you love dearly. A wave of divine energy emanates from you, connecting creatures within 30 feet of you by an empathic bond for 1 minute. You must concentrate to maintain the bond, and the bond cannot link undead, fiends or creatures that don't know at least one language. \columnbreak The bond confers a number of effects: - All affected creatures can sense each others' intentions at a surface level (hostility, friendliness, greed, etc.) and understand the literal meaning of each others' speech. - Any affected creature suffering the charmed or frightened status has those effects suppressed for the duration. - An affected creature that attempts a hostile action against another creature it is bonded with must succeed at a Wisdom save or find itself unable to attack that round. #### Bane of the Loveless Beginning at 6th level, the aura of love you exude becomes suffused with divine energy – repelling any undead or fiend that comes into contact with it. * Your Turn Undead and Destroy Undead cleric features now affect fiends as well. * When an undead or fiend damages a creature that is bonded to you, they must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save they take radiant damage equal to 1d4 + your Wisdom modifier, or half as much damage on a successful one. At 14th level, the die increases to 1d8. #### Beloved's Raiment At 8th level, once per long rest you may touch a garment and imbue it with the power of your bond with its wearer. The wearer becomes beautiful to behold, and creatures that look upon them are filled with fondness – making them friendlier and more likely to render aid. The wearer of the raiment speaks as though affected by the
tongues
spell. Upon creation, the raiment acquires 1d4 + 1 charges. The wearer of the raiment may use one charge to add your Wisdom modifier to a saving throw or ability check. Additionally, while another creature is wearing the raiment, once per turn you may take up to half the damage it receives from an attack without expending a use of your Selfless Act. The raiment lasts for a number of hours equal to your half your cleric level (rounded down), or until all of the charges are used. The raiment dissipates immediately if
dispel magic
is cast on it or if the wearer attempts to intimidate or magically coerce another creature. #### Guileless Heart At 17th level, once per long rest you may focus on a creature you can see and open your heart to it fully. A beam of pure white light extends from your chest, suffusing you and the target with divine energy, which has the following effects: * You and the target are immediately cured of any negative status conditions and are healed for a number of hit points equal to twice your cleric level. * You and the target are linked by an empathic bond until you complete a long rest. You are unable to lie to or take hostile actions against one another, and you may speak telepathically from afar as though in the same room. * If you target an undead or fiend, instead of the above effects the target is forced to confront the true nature of love. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw, taking 10d8 radiant damage on a failed saving throw, or half as much damage on a successful one. On a failed save, creatures of CR 5 or lower are destroyed outright.
