Oath of the Black Prior

The Oath of the Black Prior calls a paladin to pick up their blade and draw out the wolves among sheep. Black Priors will fight without mercy, their only goal victory at any cost.

Unlike many paladins, Black Priors are free from any code of chivalry beyond their tenets. They have few beliefs, few restraints, and few qualms when it comes to combat.

Misfortune Comes Uninvited. Always expect the worst to occur, because it will.

The Time to Repent is Over. Show your enemies no mercy, for they will show you none.

Teach Them True Darkness. No force shall stand against you. They may believe they are fearsome, but you are worse.

Channel Divinity

When you take this Oath at 3rd level, you gain the following Channel Divinity options.

Bulwark Counter. You can use your Channel Divinity to use an enemy's power against them. When an enemy lands a melee attack against you while you are wielding a shield, you may use your reaction to parry their attack, sending them over your shoulder and negating any damage. The enemy will fall prone directly behind you, and you may make one free weapon attack.

Healing Ward. You can use your Channel Divinity to heal and shield yourself. While wielding a shield, you may use an action to drop into a defensive posture. You gain +5 to your AC until the start of your next turn and regain a number of hitpoints equal to your Paladin level + your Charisma modifier.

Sinister Shield

Starting at 7th level, you may use a bonus action to roll 1d10. You take that much damage and an ally within line of sight gains that many temporary hitpoints.

Punch Through

Starting at 15th level, any creature that makes a melee attack roll that misses against you takes 1d4 bludgeoning damage.

Morale Booster

At 20th level, as an action, you can emanate an inspiring aura that allows your allies to strike true. For 1 minute, all allies within 30 ft and yourself have advantage on all attack rolls, and you may add your Charisma modifier to any attack, even if your Charisma modifier is already added. Once you use this feature, you may not use it again until you finish a long rest.
