# Rules for: Alchemy V1.1 ### Making Potions If you are proficient in Alchemist’s Tools, you can attempt to make potions during a long rest, provided you have the necessary ingredients. You may attempt to make a number of potions equal to your proficiency modifier. The ingredients may vary from exotic plants or minerals to the blood of a supernatural creature. Some materials may require an adventure in themselves. Talk to your DM. When you attempt to make a potion, declare both the type and quality of potion which you are aiming to create. Then make an ability check using Alchemist’s Tools with the ability listed. If your modified roll is greater than or equal to the craft DC of the potion, you make one. If you surpass the craft DC by at least 10, you make two potions instead. If you fail to meet the craft DC you waste your ingredients. ### Using Potions Using a potion takes one action. If you throw a potion at a target it is considered a ranged potion attack. If a creature wishes to avoid the effects of a potion, they may make a Constitution saving throw against your potion save DC. If you drink multiple of the same type of potion during the same day, you must make a Constitution saving throw against your Potion Save DC or become poisoned for the duration of the potion (to a minimum of 1 hour).
