## Midnight Reaper The midnight reaper stalks the night on its black horse, seeking victims whose souls it may claim. Resembling a humanoid cloaked in a black robe and hood, not much seems off at first until one makes contact with the bleak darkness inside of its hood that glares back with a stark emptiness. ***Judge, Jury, and Executioner.*** Midnight reapers roam the forgotten and silent woods and streets of the world when the sun fades away, seeking souls for their eternal hunt. Those marked by them will be hunted without mercy until the midnight reaper has claimed their soul and added it to their never ending collection of those lost to its blade or worse. ***Death Incarnate.*** The midnight reaper was born out an abundance of unnatural deaths near borders to the Feywild. Murders, sacrifices, executions, all are bound to create midnight reapers that will join in the hunt for the living. The midnight reaper will never rest until the perpetrator of the death that created it dies themselves. ***A Fear of Light.*** Despite the midnight reaper's desire to hunt down those who it has marked for death, upon the rise of the sun it rides to darkness. People speak in whispers that it is not merely the sun it fears, but rather light itself. Bright flames from torches and even shining gold and silver seem to ward it off from its would be prey.

The creature must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or become cursed by the midnight reaper until the midnight reaper dies. The midnight reaper always knows the location of the cursed target as long as they're on the same plane of existence. The cursed target takes an additional 1d6 necrotic damage from all attacks by the midnight reaper. If the cursed target dies, it can't be revived by any means short of a *wish* spell.
