## School of Booze The School of Booze began when a washed-up wizard, bested in combat by a drunken master monk, thought she had nothing to lose and offered to be his student. The monk accepted, and after rigorous training and much drinking, she emerged from her alcoholic cocoon as a beautiful, drunken butterfly. This pioneering mage is known as the Bartender. Those who follow in the Bartender’s footsteps (boozers) are often scorned by more respectable magic-users as slovenly and sloppy, but they couldn’t care less. Boozers delight in being underestimated by their foes before they overwhelm them with alcohol-fueled dweomercraft. ### Bonus Proficiencies When you choose this school at 2nd level, you gain proficiency in the Performance skill if you don't already have it. Your arcane technique mixes magical training with the precision of a wasted dancer and the antics of a jester. You also gain proficiency with brewer's supplies if you don't already have it. ### Booze Boosts Brain Starting at 2nd level, you think better when you’re drunk. While you are intoxicated, you have advantage on Intelligence ability checks and Intelligence saving throws. You also don't have any penalties to spell attacks using Intelligence (assuming you otherwise would according to your DM - there are no official rules on the effects of intoxication). ### Drunk Magic At 2nd level, you gain access to alcoholic spells. You always have them prepared and they don’t count against the limit on the number of spells you know and prepare. You learn the spell Broken Bottle Slash. This acts like the spell Inflict Wounds, but deals slashing instead of necrotic damage and requires a broken glass bottle as a material component (you may smash an intact bottle as part of casting the spell). At 3rd level, you learn the spell Restorative Firewater. This acts like the spell Lesser Restoration, but requires you pouring firewater down the throat of the target. At 5th level, you learn the spell Mass Drunkenness. This acts like the spell Slow, but is a poison effect and requires a Constitution instead of Wisdom saving throw. At 7th level, you learn the spell Champagne Sphere. This acts like the spell Watery Sphere, but the material component is a drop of champagne and it summons a sphere of fine champagne rather than water. At 9th level, you learn the spell Ask the Bartender. This acts like the spell Commune, but the material component is an offering of booze and the entity contacted is the spirit of the Bartender, who started the School of Booze. > ##### Art Credit > Drunk Wizard by Wingar Greeter \columnbreak ### Cures What Ails You At 6th level, you can use alcohol to soothe your nerves and restore your wellbeing. As a bonus action, you can down a shot. If you do so, you are no longer frightened or poisoned and for 1 hour, you gain temporary hit points equal to your wizard level. If you are already drunk, you can instantly become sober. If you are sober, you can instantly become drunk. Once you use this feature, you must wait until you finish a short or long rest until you can use it again. ### Whoah! Beginning at 10th level, you can use your clumsy movement to your advantage. When a creature makes an attack roll against you while you are drunk, you can use your reaction to stumble out of the way. The attack automatically misses you. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. ### Drinking Buddy Starting at 14th level, you can call upon the Bartender to provide you with a special drinking buddy. As an action, you can summon in an unoccupied space you can see within 30 feet of you a humanoid-shaped animate mass of beer for up to 1 hour. It has the statistics of a water elemental, but can speak any languages that you know, has an Intelligence score of 10, and does not have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. In addition, its attacks count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical weapons. Your drinking buddy loyally follows your commands and fights by your side. Roll initiative for it separately. It also tastes great! Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
