Monks of the Way of Dance hone their bodies in order to perform the perfect dance. They mix the performing and the martial arts into a seamless style that fits as well on the stage as it does on the battlefield.

Followers of this monastic tradition focus their ki to create lend magical power to their performances, affecting both enemies and allies in stunning ways.

Silent Gesture

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your training in movement and performance grants you the ability to communicate capably without even speaking. You have the ability to silently communicate simple ideas and feelings to any creature that can see you, whether it be through body movement, facial expression, hand gestures, or other means.

Performative Dance

At 3rd level, your training and skill in dance enable you to channel a marvelous power by performing in combat. You gain the following benefits to your monk features:

Downbeat. Whenever you hit a creature with an attack from your Flurry of Blows, you mark them as a target for your allies. The next time that creature is attacked by a creature other than you before the beginning of your next turn, you can roll your Martial Arts die and add the roll to the damage the creature takes from the attack.

Footwork. Whenever you are using your Patient Defense feature, one willing creature within 10 feet of you gains a bonus to its AC equal to your Dexterity modifier.

Dance Partner. Whenever you use your Step of the Wind, one willing creature that you can see within 30 feet of you has its walking speed increased by 10 feet until the end of its next turn.

Turnabout

Beginning at 6th level, your agility is such that you can maintain momentum even when suffering a setback.

When you take damage from a melee attack, you can use your reaction to manuever around the blow. The damage is reduced by an amount equal to your Martial Arts die + your Dexterity modifier. As part of the same reaction, you can choose to spend 1 ki point and move up to 10 feet without provoking attacks of opportunity.

Mastery of Form

Beginning at 11th level, your agility, balance, and grace begin to surpass the limits of most other mortals.

You are unaffected by difficult terrain, and you have advantage on saving throws to resist being moved or knocked prone. Additionally, you are immune to any spell or magical effect that would change your shape against your will, such as the polymorph spell.

Grand Pas de Deux

At 17th level, your dancing prowess is such that you can train others to a level nearly matching yours.

As the end of a short or long rest you can spend 3 ki points to designate another willing creature as a partner. Whenever your partner is within 60 feet of each you, it's speed equals your own and it always has the benefit of your Footwork feature. Additionally, when either of you take damage from a source you both can see, the other can use its reaction to move up to its speed and take the Attack action.

You and your partner benefit from this feature until one of you completes a long rest, or you designate a different creature as a partner.
