Tool Proficiency

When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with smith's tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan's tools of your choice. Additionally, you can integrate your smith's tools within your battlefist.

Renegade Mastermaker Spells

Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Alchemist Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don't count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

9th Nondetection, Protection from Energy

17th Hold Monster, Seeming

Battlefist

At 3rd level, you use your skill and ingenuity to create a battlefist. The battlefist is a mechanical hand that resembles a gauntlet with articulated fingers. Through a full day of construction and surgery, you attach the battlefist to your arm, replacing your hand in the process. Your battlefist functions like your hand formerly did.

You are proficient with your battlefist and it counts as a melee weapon for the purpose of spells and infusions. It also deals bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your strength modifier. When you make an unarmed attack with it, you can add your intelligence modifier to the attack roll rather than your strength modifier.

If you lose your battlefist, you can go through the process of construction and surgery again, as long as you have smith's tools. If you already have a battlefist, you cannot make a new one as it must be made attached to your arm.

As a bonus action, you can use one of the following battlefist maneuver options of your choice. You can use only one Battlefist maneuver option per turn. You can spend a

spell slot to use a battlefist manuever, otherwise you can only use it three times until you finish a long rest.

Boost. When attacking with the battlefist, you can use boosters on your fist to attack your target another time.

Block. Your battlefist turns into a shield and you gain a +3 bonus to your Armor Class until the start of your next turn.

Thrust. Your boosters thrust you in a straight line up to half your movement speed. If a creature is in your path, you can use your action to attack it. If you hit it, you push it back a number of feet equal to 10 + your intelligence modifier and you deal extra damage equal to 1d4.

Rocket. Your battlefist becomes a thrown weapon with a range of 60/120 feet until the end of your next turn. When you do a ranged attack roll, you can add your intelligence modifier to the attack and damage rolls.

Artificial Component

At 5th level, you start to incorporate more artificial components into your body, allowing you to repair yourself like a machine when damaged. When you are damaged, you can make a DC 15 intelligence check with your smith's tools on yourself to heal hit points equal to 1d6 + your intelligence modifier. On a success, you take the full amount. On a failure, you take half of the result. You can do this three times. You regain all expended uses after a long rest.

You also choose one of the following components to graft into your body, you gain one more at 9th level and another at 15th level.

Artificial Eyesight. You gain darkvision with a range of 120 feet, and you gain advantage on saving throws against illusion spells that affect your eyesight.

Constructed Resillience. You gain advantage on saving throws against being poisoned. You also become immune to disease.

Sentry's Rest. From now on, whenever you take a long rest, you can now be in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn't render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.

Headlights. You attach lights to yourself. If turned on, they produce bright light at a distance of 80 feet, and dim light at a distance of 30 feet.

Mental Enchancement. You now have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and you can accurately remember things that happened from up to a month ago.

Extra Attack

Starting at 5th level, you can attack twice, rather than once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Reinforced Battlefist

At 9th level, you add extra metals and parts to your battlefist to make its maneuvers stronger than before. You gain the following upgrades.

Improved Boost. You can now attack with advantage with the attack granted by Boost.

Improved Block. Your shield now gives you a +4 bonus to your armor class rather than a +3 bonus.

Improved Thrust. Thrust now pushes creatures back by a number of feet equal to 15 + your intelligence modifier and

deals extra damage equal to 1d6, instead of the normal feet and extra damage.

Improved Rocket. Your battlefist now gains a range of 80/160 feet when it becomes a thrown weapon, rather than 60/120 feet.

Construct Exemplar

When you reach 15th level, you have attached so many robotic parts to yourself that you've become something that even warforged envy. Reaching this point, you gain the following benefits.

  • When you roll for initiative and you no longer have any Battlefist Manuever uses, you regain one use.
  • If your hit points are below half of your hit point maximum, you can cast the mending cantrip on yourself. Each time you cast it on yourself, you regain 2d6 hit points.
  • You are treated as a warforged for the purpose of meeting any requirements or prerequisites.

Renegade

Mastermaker

v1.0

It is I again! I decided to make another 3.5e to 5e conversion. I remembered seeing the Renegade Mastermaker once and I thought having the Battlefist in 5e would be cool. I decided to attempt make a somewhat direct conversion of the Battlefist, and it seems nifty. I think the rest of it fits thematically too.
