Kyrite Traits
Your Kyrite character has a number of traits given to them by their creators over the millenia.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age. Kyrites reach maturity at the same rate as humans but are not considered adults until they reach their 20th year. They can usually live to just past 200 years old.
Alignment.
Size. Kyrites vary in size based on their origin. Most male Kyrites range from 7 to 8 feet tall standing, or about 4 feet at the shoulders when in a quadrupedal stance. The Small Kyrites are smaller in stature ranging from just under 6 feet tall to 7 feet tall standing up. Regardless, females tend to stand half a foot shorter. Your size is medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet as if it were in bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Facultative Bipedalism. Kyrites have developed the ability to walk and run in both bipedal and quadrupedal stances. Using your bonus action, you can switch between the two stances, each giving different benefits.
While in the bipedal stance, the Kyrite can wield shields and weapons, and use your hands to interact with objects normally.
When taking the quadrupedal stance, a Medium or smaller creature without the Powerful Build feature can ride on your back if you allow it. In such a situation, you continue to act independently, not as a controlled mount. However, you cannot hold items in your hands while in this stance.
Claws. Your large clawed hands are a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with it, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your strength modifier instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
Languages. Kyrites can speak, read and write Common and Kyrite. Subrace. There are three main subraces of Kyrite: Big Kryrites, Small Kyrites and Taurites. Choose one of these subraces.
