Otherworldly Patron
At 1st level you strike a bargain with an otherworldy being of your choice. The following option is available to a warlock, in addition to those offered in the Player's Handbook: The Void.
The Void
The Void is ancient. The Void is emptiness given form. It seeks to cover the realms, cover the light that bites at it; that dares to limit its power. It can only reach so far out of the abyss into this world, but luckily it has found others that seek to cover the light and quiet the world. Luckily it has found you.
Expanded Spell list
The Void lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Void Expanded Spell List
| Spell Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 1st | Dissonant Whispers, sleep |
| 2nd | detect thoughts,phantasmal force |
| 3rd | nondetection, feign death |
| 4th | evards black tentacles, phantasmal killer |
| 5th | dominate person, modify memory |
Shade Soul
The darkness of the void is reflected in your shadow. You always have a pitch black shadow regardless of the light conditions. Starting at 1st level you have learned to snuff out the light through your connection to the void. As a bonus action you may extend your shadow up to a range of 60ft. and extinguish one non-magical source of light.
Vengeful shadow
Beginning at 1st level you can have your shadow extended through your spells. When you make a successful spell attack roll you may cast darkness originating at the target as a bonus action. The darkness lasts until the beginning of your next turn and does not require concentration. You may cast darkness this way a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) and regain all uses upon completing a long rest.
Shade Cloak
At 6th level you can wrap yourself in Void, becoming a showy reflection of yourself. As a bonus action you may fly up to 30 feet. As a part of this movement you may move through creatures, objects other than physical barriers (such as walls, floors, or ceilings), and provoke no attacks of opportunity. You may not end this movement inside an object or creature. In addition, any creature you move through takes 1d4 psychic damage as the emptiness of the void briefly passes through them.
Once you use this feature you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Void Given Form
The Void now courses through you, encouraging you to spread its darkness. At 10th level when an enemy within 30 feet of you that you can see is reduced to 0 hit points while in dim light or darkness you may channel void through them as a reaction. As a result their shadow breaks free from them and rises as a Shadow (Monster Manual pg.269) under your control. Roll initiative for the Shadow, which has its own turns. It obeys any mental commands that you issue to it (no action required by you). If you don’t issue any commands to the shadow, it attacks the nearest creature that is hostile to you. A creature killed by a Shadow under your control cannot cause new shadows to rise, regardless of their alignment. After an hour or when you take a short or long rest all active shadows break from your control and fade away to spread the Void. You may create a shadow a number of times equal to your charisma modifier (minimum of 1) and regain all uses upon completing a short or long rest.
Void Given Focus
At 14th level you can use your bonus action to allow the Void to consume you briefly. A great beast made of swirling darkness forms around you. This form lasts up to a minute oryou lose concentration on it (as if you are concentrating on a spell). While in this form you gain the following attributes:
- Your size become huge and all your melee attacks gain the reach feature
- You gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage, and vulnerability to radiant damage.
- You are wreathed in the Void, and gain the effects of Shadow of Moil (except resistance to radiant damage) until your transformation ends.
- When you use Shade Cloak while in this form, it does not count against the number of times you may use the feature.
- When you hit a creature with a melee attack roll you can cause the shadows around you to lash out, causing the attack to deal an additional 3d10 psychic damage. Additionally, the target must make a Wisdom saving through against your spell save DC or be frightened of you until the end of their next turn.
You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.
