Rogue Archetype: Blackguard

Fancy or fair are not words that describe your technique in a fight. You'll use whatever you have, whether that is your weapon, your body or a broken chair leg. From mercenary, to bodyguard, to cold blooded killer, there's always a job for a competent fighter with the wits and the stomach to do what needs to be done.

Versatile Fighting

At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor and improvised weapons, and you can use your Sneak Attack feature with any melee weapon that you're proficient with as long as it doesn't have the two-handed, heavy or special properties.

Cunning Brawler

Starting at 3rd level, you can use your Cunning Action to shove or grapple a creature. You have advantage on all melee weapon attacks against grappled creatures.

Tough Bastard

At 9th level, you gain proficiency in your Constitution saving throws. If you already have proficiency in Constitution saving throws, you can choose to gain proficiency in Dexterity or Strength saving throws.

Additionally, before you roll a death saving throw, you can instead choose to roll your sneak attack dice. You regain hit points equal to half the number rolled (rounded down), you then gain one level of exhaustion. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Veteran Vanguard

Starting at 13th level, whenever two or more hostile creatures are within 5 ft. of you, they have disadvantage on melee attacks against you. If you take damage, you lose this benefit until the start of your next turn.

Now You've Done It

At 17th level, whenever you use your Uncanny Dodge to reduce the damage of a melee weapon attack, you lash out at your attacker. As part of that reaction, you can make an Attack of Opportunity against the attacking creature at advantage. This attack can benefit from your Sneak Attack even if you've already used it this turn.
