# Warlock Patron: Broker of Pacts You do not know who it is, only that it serves as the middleman for those that have power and those that desire it. With its help, you have made the deals you have made, gained the power to change the world, and most importantly, survived. ##### Broker of Pacts Features | Warlock Level | Features | |:---:|:-----------:| | 1st | Expanded Spell List, The First Pact | | 6th | Boon of the Second Pact | | 10th | Eldritch Gifts | | 14th | Book and Blade, Chain and Charm | ## Expanded Spell list The Broker of Pacts lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you. ##### Broker of Pacts Expanded Spells | Spell Level | Spells | |:---:|:-----------:| | 1st | *Command, Sanctuary* | | 2nd | *Calm Emotions, Detect Thoughts* | | 3rd | *Glyph of Warding, Life Transference* | | 4th | *Death Ward*, *Greater Invisibility* | | 5th | *Creation*, *Geas* | | 9th | *Wish* | ## The First Pact At the 1st level, your first pact has been brokered. What you wanted doesn't matter; what matters is how you got it. Choose one racial ability that is not an increase to an ability score. You gain that ability, and may use it as if you were a member of that race. If the ability increases with levels, only your Warlock levels count towards increasing its potency. For example, you could choose the Dragonborn's breath weapon ability. Thereafter, you may use that ability once per short rest, as if you were a Dragonborn. ## Boon of the Second Pact At the 6th level, you have made another deal. The Broker has facilitated it, and you relish every drop of power you have purchased, no matter the price. You may choose an additional Pact Boon. It must be a Boon you have not chosen before. You gain that boon, as well as the ability to pick invocations that require that boon. You also gain one additional invocation that requires that pact boon and is available at this level. ## Eldritch Gifts At the 10th level, your prowess once again increases as the Broker arranges another acceptable pact for power. You may choose an additional Pact Boon. It must be a Boon you have not chosen before. You gain that boon, as well as the ability to pick invocations that require that boon. You also gain one additional invocation that requires that pact boon. That invocation must be available at this level. Whenever another creature uses your talisman, attacks with your pact weapon, casts a cantrip with your Book of Shadows, or benefits from the Help action of your Chained familiar, you gain temporary hitpoints equal to your Charisma modifier. (minimum 1) ## Book and Blade, Chain and Charm At the 14th level, you've gained the final token of your pacts. You may choose an additional Pact Boon. It must be a Boon you have not chosen before. You gain that boon, as well as the ability to pick invocations that require that boon. Additionally, your Pact Boons are empowered in the following ways: * ***Twinned Spirits.*** If you are knocked unconscious or slain, your Chained familiar persists and is possessed by your spirit. You control its actions, retaining all your Warlock class features and abilities, though your ability to cast spells may be restricted by the capabilities of its form. If your familiar is discorporated for any reason, this possession ends. * ***Dark Skill.*** If you or another creature would miss on an attack roll while wearing your talisman, you may roll a d4 and add it to that attack, potentially turning a miss into a hit. You may do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. * ***Forbidden Lore.*** As a reaction to seeing a creature cast a 5th level or lower spell within 30 feet of you, you may capture the secret of that spell in your Book of Shadows. You gain the ability to cast that spell with your Pact Magic spell slots. You may have only one spell captured this way; if you use this ability again, the previous spell is lost. * ***Armory of the Dark Ones.*** When you use your action to summon your pact weapon, you may also summon a suit of magical armor onto your body. While wearing this armor, your AC is 18. You may still benefit from wielding a shield while armored this way. You may dismiss this armor back into a extra-dimensional space as an action. If you doff any piece of this armor, it disappears. \pagebreakNum ## Changelog ##### Version 1.? * Changed 6th, and 10th level features, now grant pact boon and one invocation for that boon to better scale to higher levels. * Changed 10th level feature, now gives small temp. hp bonus for lending boons to other creatures. * Changed 14th level feature effects, now grants a unique ability to each pact boon. Flavorful, lots of utility, and fits the overall theme of the class: lots of small pacts, not one big ability.
