Vril Goblin
Vril are the product of dark elf wizards’ experiments over long generations. These goblinoids are imbued with innate sonic ability.
Although a considerable number remain enslaved by the drow, many others have escaped over the years to make their own destiny in the Underdark and even the surface world.
Ability Score Increases
Your Constitution score increases by 2, and either your Strength or Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age
Vril reach adulthood at age 7 and live up to 55 years.
Alignment
The hardship they endured as drow slaves forced the vril to rely on each other to survive. Although often initially suspicious of other races, vril aren't as selfish as typical goblins. They are usually neutral.
Size
Having been bred to perform hard labor, vril are somewhat bulkier than most goblins. They are between 3 1/2 and 4 feet tall and weigh between 50 and 90 pounds. Your size is Small.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Shriek
As an action, you can emit a horrible shriek, either as a 15-foot-radius burst centered on you or as a 30-foot cone emanating from you. Any creature in the affected area takes 2d6 points of thunder damage. A successful Constitution save (DC 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus) reduces the damage by half. If you are a barbarian, using this trait counts as making an attack for the purpose of continuing your rage.
Starting at 5th level, your shriek does additional damage equal to your level. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Blindsight
You possess a limited echolocation ability, giving you blindsight with a range of 10 feet. If you cannot hear, you lose this feature.
Sound-Proof
You have resistance to thunder damage and cannot be deafened by loud noise.
Well-Built
You have proficiency in the Athletics skill.
Underdark-Adapted Senses
Vril have poor eyesight, but keen hearing. You have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks relying on sight, but advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks relying on hearing.

You can speak, read, and write Common and Goblin.
Racial Feats
Devastating Shriek
Prerequisite: Vril, 8th level
Your Constitution score increases by 1, to a maximum of 20, and creatures that fail their saving throw against your Shriek trait by 5 or more are stunned until the end of your next turn.
Sudden Shriek
Prerequisite: Vril
Your Constitution score increases by 1, to a maximum of 20, and you can use your Shriek trait as a bonus action.
