The Many Patrons

Sometimes, a warlock cannot find a powerful entity to establish a pact with. For those in trouble, there exists crowdsourced subscription services like Twitch, Patreon or Kickstarter, where multiple patrons can pledge monthly support for the warlock.

Expanded Spell List

Your patrons let you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you. When you cast your spells, it can appear as if your patrons are producing the effects for you.

The Many Patrons Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1st Command, Divine Favor
2nd Locate Object, Phantasmal Force
3rd Conjure Animals, Spirit Guardians
4th Fabricate, Guardian of Faith
5th Commune, Conjure Elemental

Subscriber Pledge

Starting at 1st level, your patrons pledge their support for your endeavors. You gain a Patron die, which starts as a d6. When you make an ability check or an attack roll, you can roll the die once and add it to the roll. You can wait until after you roll the d20, but must decide before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails.

Each time you roll the Patron die, it decreases by one die size until it becomes a d4. When you roll a d4 Patron die, it cannot be used again until you increase the die size.

Your Patron die increases by one die size, up to the starting size, at the end of a short rest. You can also spend a minute imploring a non-hostile creature to support you. The creature must understand your language and have not spoken to you within the past month. If you succeed on a DC 15 Charisma (Persuasion) check, your Patron die increases by one die size, up to the starting size. The DC increases by 5 on each subsequent check until you finish a long rest.

Your Patron die returns to its starting size at the end of a long rest. When you reach certain levels in this class, the starting size of your Patron die increases: at 5th level (d8), 11th level (d10), and 17th level (d12).

Stretch Goal

Starting at 6th level, you can beseech your patrons to provide additional aid. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage by an amount equal to your current Patron die + your warlock level.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Perfect Anonymity

Beginning at 10th level, you have learned to maintain separation from your patrons. You are permanently under the effects of the nondetection spell and you do not leave tracks unless you choose to. Whenever you make a Dexterity (Stealth) check, you can treat a roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

Personal Fanbase

At 14th level, you can call upon your army of patrons. When you hit a creature with an attack, you can use this feature to instantly transport the target to a forum where your patrons mock it endlessly with hurtful comments.

At the end of your next turn, the target returns to the space it previously occupied, or the nearest unoccupied space. The target must make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC, taking 8d10 psychic damage on a failure and half as much on a success. Additionally, if the target fails the saving throw, you can also impose one of the following effects:

  • Disable Comments. The target cannot speak until the end of its next turn.
  • Slow Mode. The target’s speed is halved until the end of its next turn.
  • Vicious Mockery. The target has disadvantage on its next attack roll.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
