# College of Silence Bards of the College of Silence reject the idea that all performance must be musical, instead choosing to use the absence of sound to emphasize other aspects of their talents. Harnessing the power of silence is a rare talent that only a handful of bards have ever had the patience to do, but those with the will power to live a life of silence can leave audiences, foes and allies speechless. ### College of Silence Features | Bard Level | Features | |:---:|:-----------:| | 3 | Mute, Actions speak louder than words | | 6 | The sound of silence | | 14 | Strong but silent type | ### Mute Upon joining the College of Silence at 3rd level, you begin to appreciate that words aren't always necessary. You learn the *message* cantrip and can cast it as a bonus action without verbal components. When casting *message* you are able to target up to a number of creatures equal to your charisma modifier. At 6th level you may use the *message* cantrip in place of the verbal components of any spells you cast. ### Actions Speak Louder than Words Also at 3rd level, you develop the ability to grant others strength through their own silence. Whenever a creature uses one of your bardic inspiration die to increase an attack roll, they may also add the number rolled to the damage of their attack. However, they are unable to speak until the start of their next turn. ### The Sound of Silence At 6th level you are able to create pockets of peace and quiet at will. You may cast the *silence* spell without expending a spell slot a number of times equal to your charisma modifier per long rest. Upon use of this feature, you may choose to double the radius of the spell. ### Strong but Silent Type At 14th level, your ability to empower others through their own silence fully awakens. Creatures that possess bardic inspiration are granted additional bonuses as follows: * Their AC increases by 2 * They gain temporary hp equal to your bard level * Once per turn, when taking the attack action, they may deal additional damage equal to your charisma modifier. These bonuses are removed as soon as the bardic inspiration is lost or the creature speaks. \columnbreak > #### Art Credit > Silence is Beauty - Dejan Bozinovski
