The Master of Madness
You have made a pact with an entity who's vast power has broken their sanity, causing it to manifest in strange, horrifying or whimsical ways. All Warlocks who make these pacts succumb to the same fate, sacrificing their fragile pysche for immense power, over which they have little control. Examples of these patrons include The Mad King Oberon, The Chained Oblivion and Sheogorath.
Expanded Spell List
The Master of Madness lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Master of Madness Expanded Spells
| Spell Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 1st | chaos bolt, tasha's hideous laughter |
| 2nd | enlarge/reduce, phantasmal force |
| 3rd | blink, speak with plants |
| 4th | confusion, polymorph |
| 5th | animate objects, awaken |
Touch Of Madness
At 1st level, your patron shares their view of the world with you, and allows you to share it with others. You must roll or choose a number at least once on the indefinite madness table. This madness can never be cured by any means. Additionally, as an action you may touch a creature and instill it with madness. The creature must make a wisdom saving throw, and if it fails it must roll on the long term madness table, it is affected by this madness for one hour.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Chaotic Boon
Also at 1st level, your patron infuses you with raw, unpredictable power. Whenever you roll initiative, roll 1d6 and take the result from the Chaotic Boon Table. The effect granted by this lasts until combat ends.
The die you roll changes as you progress in power, becoming 1d8 at 5th level, a 1d10 at 9th level, and a d12 at 13th level.
Meaningless Word
Starting at 6th level, you can break the minds of those who try to harm you. Whenever you are targeted by an attack roll or spell, you may use your reaction to cast Command targeting the feature at first level, without expending a spell slot. If the creature fails the wisdom saving throw, the attack or spell is lost. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Blessing of the Mad God
Beginning at 10th level, your patron grants you protection against those who try to reign in your unpredictable thoughts. You gain advantage on Wisdom saving throws and your thoughts cannot be read by any means. Any creature who tries to read your thoughts must roll on the short term madness table.
Additionally, when you are affected by your Chaotic Boon feature, you may use a bonus action to reroll your effect from the table, causing any effect generated by it to end immediately, and gaining the effect of the new roll.
Nonsensical Reality
Starting at 14th level, you can call upon your patrons power to warp the world into your twisted vision. As an action, you can force all hostile creatures within 30ft of you to make a wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they must roll on the short term madness table and gain the effect. Any target affected by this can repeat the saving throw at the end of it's turns, ending the effect on a success. Alternatively, you can use an action to end the effect early, and cause yourself and any creature still affected by this feature to roll on the wild magic table.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
