Pestilent Bloodline

Somewhere, somehow, your lineage was soiled by a virulent plague. Suffused into your very essence, this plague has continued on in the surviving members of your bloodline in a dormant form. In some unlucky few, however, it manifests into a magical pestilence that both empowers and debilitates its host. Symbiotic in its relationship with this new body, the plague almost has a mind of its own, and wreaks havoc wherever and whenever it deems necessary.

The Illness

The damage dealt by your illness differs based on the choice made below. Once you have chosen an Illness, you may not change it again for any reason.

Illness Damage Type
Snow Sickness Cold
Ashvein Fever Fire
Rotscale Necrotic
The Shivers Thunder
Bubbleskin Acid
Sanguiare Toxifectus Poison

The Cure

At 1st level, the pestilent magic you command is infused with the ability to inure you to its effects. You are immune to diseases. In addition, you have resistance to the damage type of your illness.

Mucus Excretion

Starting at 1st level, your spells cause mucus to excrete from your body and splatter onto nearby surfaces. When you start casting a Sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, creatures within a 15 foot cone originating from you must make a Constitution saving throw or take your disease damage equal to 1d4 + your Charisma modifier.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, and regain all uses at the end of a short or long rest.

Putrid Resilience

At 6th level, the disease that has wreaked havoc on your body now provides you with increased survivability. You may use a bonus action on your turn to expend a hit die and regain a number of hit points equal to the number rolled + your Constitution modifier.

In addition, any time you would lose a part of your body (limb, eye, etc.) that part of your body returns at the end of a long rest.

Pustules

At 14th level, your attackers are assaulted by disease ridden pus as they assault your body. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to deal damage to creatures of your choice within 10 feet of you. The creatures must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, they take your disease damage equal to 1d6 + your Charisma modifier.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, and regain all uses at the end of a short or long rest.

Walking Pathogen

Starting at 18th level, you can rouse the infectious pathogens you've spattered against your foes, causing them to wreak havoc. At any point that a creature fails a saving throw against your Mucus Excretion or Pustules features, you can expend sorcery points to inflict them with one of the following status conditions for 1 minute.

Points Spent Status
2 Poisoned
3 Blinded
3 Stunned
3 Restrained
4 Paralyzed

A creature under any of these conditions can make a Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns to end the effect.

Pestilent Sorcerer Quirks

At your option, you can pick from or roll on the Pestilent Sorcerer Quirks table to create a quirk for your character.
