# Path of the Flagellant ## Strength in Pain Where others fear pain, you revel in it. Whether through divine devotion, solemn vows, or sheer force of will you are able to turn your body's torment into righteous might. ___ By surviving damage and through self inflicted wounds, you bring yourself closer to divine perfection and find truths in agony. ## Fervor Beginning at 3rd level, your rage manifests as masochistic fervor. Whenever you enter a rage or as a bonus action while you are raging, you flay yourself with your weapon dealing damage to yourself equal to double your proficiency modifier. This damage ignores resistance and immunity. Whenever you use this feature, you gain temporary hit points until your rage ends equal to 3 times your proficiency modifier. ___ Your devotion also builds within you as your injuries mount. Choose Radiant or Necrotic when you gain this feature. If you are at or below half your maximum hit points, the first creature you hit each turn with a weapon attack takes an extra 1d6 damage of the type you chose. ## Fearless Suffering At 6th level, when you are at or below half your maximum hit points, you are immune to the frightened condition. Also, you gain proficiency in the Religion skill. If you are already proficient in Religion you may gain proficiency in another skill of your choice. ___ Lastly, whenever you make a Religion check, you may take damage from your Fervor ability to gain advantage on that check. ## Exaltation of Pain Starting at 10th level, your rabid devotion can inspire others to endure suffering. When a creature within 30 feet of you that you can see takes damage, you may use your reaction to take damage from your Fervor ability and give that creature resistance to all damage for that attack. Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you complete a short or long rest. ___ In addition, your courtship of pain grants you advantage on death saving throws. ___ ##### Credit /u/flamableconcrete for Watermarks ___ Art: "Darkest Dungeon" by WortCat Deviantart \columnbreak ## Vessel of Devastation At 14th level the devastation your body has endured allows you to channel new limits of your fervor. Your fervor damage applies to every weapon attack you make instead of your first attack each turn. Furthermore, you can unleash a devastating blow as your pain drives you to into a frenzy. When you hit with a weapon attack, you may deal an additional 1d8 fervor damage for every 15 hit points you are missing from your hit point maximum. Once you use this feature, you cannot do again until you complete a long rest.
