Tempered Thorn Whip
When you choose this Circle at 2nd level, you learn the Thorn Whip cantrip. If you already know this cantrip, you learn a different Druid cantrip of your choice. The cantrip doesn't count against your number of cantrips known. When you cast thorn whip, the following features are applied to it:
- The cantrip can target objects, and can pull objects of size large or smaller in addition to creatures.
- When you use thorn whip to hit a target that is sharing a space with any plants, instead of pulling the target, you can cause those plants to magically extend from the ground and grapple the target, trapping it until the end of your next turn. A grappled creature can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) check against your spell save DC. On a success, it frees itself.
Lifebloom
At second level, you've learned to make life bloom in even the darkest of places. As an action, you can present a piece of a nonmagical plant, and breathe magic into it. The plant crumbles and disappears into the wind.
At any point within 30 feet of you that you can see, you cause the magic you wrought to spring into life and take root at that point. Plants of the same species you presented appear in that area and grow in a 5 foot-radius, 10 foot-high cylinder.
When you use this ability, you can cause the plants to become difficult terrain for your enemies, slowing them down. If you use Lifebloom to grow plants a second time, the former plants wilt and die.
Greensong
Also at second level, you can use a bonus action to discretely affect any nonmagical plants (or portion of plants) that you can see up to 30 feet away from you that fit in a 5-foot cube. You can cause the affected plants to slowly animate, move up to 5 feet, manipulate or use or grab an object, secrete different odors, change colors, heal or grow, wilt or die, or blossom.
The plants cannot carry more than 10 pounds.
Eternal Garden
When you reach 6th level, your enemies will find it difficult to break free of your grasp. While you are concentrating on a spell that has a duration of 1 minute or longer that creates plants, such as entangle or grasping vine, you can use a bonus action to move plants created by the spell up to 30 feet along the ground in a direction of your choice to an area that you can see as long as you concentrate on the spell. You can only use this feature once each time you cast a spell, and cannot use it on the same turn that you cast that spell.
Counterseed
At tenth level, Nature has taught you how to wait and listen for just the right moment to strike. While a creature is within 30 feet of you and is sharing its space with any plants, and the creature would either move from that space, or attempts to cast a spell, you can use your reaction to enchant those plants, springing them to life.
The creature must make a Dexterity saving throw against your druid spell save DC. On a failed save, the following effects apply until the end of your next turn. If the creature attempted to move, vines extend from the plants and grab the creature, restraining it. If the creature attempts to cast a spell, a flurry of leaves fly into the face of the creature, blinding it.
After a creature fails their save and is subjected to one of these effect, that creature is immune to that effect for 24 hours.
Prince of Forests
At 14th level, you become an Avatar of Nature, allowing your soul to briefly hold a divinity of Nature. While in this state, your appearance transforms to resemble an aspect of Nature of your choosing. When you first use this ability, nonmagical plants of your choice grow and spread out from you in a 30 foot radius along the ground.
Using your action, you undergo a transformation. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits.
- When you use thorn whip to grapple a creature, it remains grappled for the duration of this transformation, unless it uses its action to successfully free itself.
- Once during this transformation, you can use a bonus action to transform 1 willing creature within 30 feet of you into a Treant for the duration of this transformation, as if you used the polymorph spell. This does not expend a spell slot, and you do not use your concentration.
Once you have used this transformation, you can’t use it again until the next dawn or until you expend a spell slot of 5th level or higher to use it again.
