Die of Fate
Wondrous Item, Major, Legendary
Usually found inside a small, lead box, this 6-sided die has the same physical properties as a normal die. Instead of having numbers or dots, the die has a different symbol inscribed onto each of its sides. Once rolled, a random magical effect takes places. Roll a d6 and consult the table to see which effect takes place.
| d6 | Symbol | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Gate | Your soul becomes trapped within the die, and your body becomes incapacitated. A wish spell doesn't release the soul, but will tell you that it's inside the die. Only by rolling this again can the soul be set free. |
| 2 | Clover | You gain the Lucky feat, and your luck point maximum increases to 4. If you already have the Lucky feat, you are unaffected by this roll. |
| 3 | Thief | For 1d4 hours, all nonmagical weapons, items, and currency in your possession that is worth at least 1 gold piece disappears. When the hours are up, everything affected by this reappears in the same place it was before the roll. |
| 4 | Chest | A small chest containing 500 platinum appears at your feet. |
| 5 | Skull | You lose half your current hit points (minimum of 1) and roll again. If this is rolled three times in a row, you die. |
| 6 | Crossed Swords | You are teleported to an empty, extradimensional space in the shape of a cube that is 50-ft on all sides. A creature, of the DM's choosing, that has a challenge rating equal to or lower than half your current level awaits you. You can only leave this space when either you or the creature is defeated. If you are victorious, you gain 10,000 xp and a legendary weapon or item (of the DM's choosing). |
