Otherworldly Patron

The Dragon

You have made a pact with a dragon, one of the most feared monsters and the very incarnation of arcanery across the multiverse. They dwell where gold and influence can be gathered, and your pact is expected to keep feeding both even more. Dragons are respected for their strength and personality and the very nature of your patron, no matter if chromatic or metallic, implies its aspirations of having a dominion beyond the wealth of many kingdoms.

Draconic Features
Walock Level Feature
1st Expanded Spell List, Draconic Affinity, Menacing Attacks
6th Chromatic Breath (15-feet cone)
10th Greed Of The Wyrm, Fearful Magicks
14th Chromatic Breath (30-feet cone), Dragon Dealings

Expanded Spell List

The Dragon lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Draconic Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1st alarm, burning hands
2nd darkvision, locate object
3rd tiny hut, lightning bolt
4th polymorph, stoneskin
5th cone of cold, legend lore

Draconic Affinity

Starting at 1st level, you begin to unravel the nature of the powers you have been bestowed by your patron.

At 1st level, you choose one type of dragon as your patron. Whenever you cast a spell that deals damage, you can change that spell to deal this type of damage instead.

Draconic Affinity
Dragon Damage Type
Black or Copper Acid
Blue or Bronze Lightning
Brass, Gold or Red Fire
Green Poison
Silver or White Cold

Also, you can speak, read and write Draconic.

Menacing Attacks

Also at 1st level, whenever you hit a creature with an attack, you can attempt to assert dominance into it. That creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. If it fails the save, the creature is frightened of you for 1 minute. It can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of their turns. You can attempt to frighten a creature once per attack.

You can use this feature twice until you finish a short or long rest.

Chromatic Breath

At 6th level, you can use your action to expel a weakening breath. Each creature in a 15-feet cone must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC.

If they fail this saving throw, they take 6d6 damage of the type associated with your Draconic Affinity and they have disadvantage on the next saving throw against spells that deal damage until the end of your next turn. If they save, they take half that damage and don't suffer the debilitating effect.

At 14th level, the range increases to 30 feet.

You can use this feature again after finishing a short or long rest.

Greed Of The Wyrm

At 10th level, if you inspect during 1 minute an occupied space with treasure, trade goods or equipment within 30 feet, you can ascertain the ammount of coins, the true value of any gemstones and the base value of anything present in that space. You also detect the presence of magic items in it and their rarity.

If you spend 1 hour inspecting this space you know their exact value taking into account the layout of the land 6 miles around it, knowing if part of the materials that the treasure is made of are abundant or scarce in the general area or in any settlements known to you.

Fearful Magicks

Also at 10th level, you can use your Menacing Attacks feature when a creature fails a saving throw against your spells.

Dragon Dealings

At 14th level, your patron is proud of you enough to send a trusty helper. You can cast planar ally once without expending a spell slot.

This use of planar ally is special. The ally that is sent is a Young Dragon, an avatar of your patron to aid you.

Payment for this ally can be negotiated for anything you have inspected before with your Greed Of The Wyrm feature by half the price, if the ally is interested. This ally is also inclined to exchange its service for anything your patron might be interested in.

You can use this feature again after finishing a long rest.
