College of Rap

Any bard who studies the College of Rap has forgone the path of other, ordinary bards. Rather than spending years honing their knowledge of history, or studying the blade, they instead mastered the arts of rhythm and poetry. Bards of this school may take the title of wordsmith, freestyler, or even spiritual lyrical miracle.

Some view bards of this college as unsung heroes of a forgotten art. While others view them as traditional bards who have lost their way. Nonetheless, bards of this college aim to surpass their own limits in their ability to flow together words and rhythms.

Lyrical Prodigy

3rd-Level College of Rap Feature

You learn the vicious mockery cantrip. If you already know this cantrip, you learn a different bard cantrip of your choice. The cantrip doesn't count aginst the number of cantrips known.

When you cast vicious mockery you can add your Charisma modifier to the damage roll.

Hype

3rd-Level College of Rap Feature

You learn to play a supporting role to your allies' achievements and keep everyone excited even when they slip up. When an ally that you can see within 60 feet of you makes an ability check, you can use your reaction to expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die and adding the value rolled to the check. If the ability check made by your allied used Charisma, then you also add your Charisma modifier to the value rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die.

Verbal Duelist

6th-Level College of Rap Feature

You use your action to challenge a creature to a duel on the battlefield of ideas. The challenged creature cannot make attack rolls or cast spells other than vicious mockery. The creature learns vicious mockery if it doesn't know it already. At the end of each of the challenged creature's turns, it can make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC to end the duel. On a successful save, the creature is frightened of you until the end of its next turn.

The duel also ends after a number of minutes equal to your Charisma modifier, if you damage any other creature (even emotionally), or if you cast a spell at any other creature.

Creatures other than the challenged creature who attempt to attack you, or cast a spell at you, must succeed on Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or select a new target.

Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until after a short or long rest.

Slander

14th-Level College of Rap Feature

You master the art of chiding someone after they make a mistake, causing them to make further mistakes.

When a creature you can see within 120 feet of you misses with an attack, fails an ability or saving throw, you can use your reaction to insult, mock, or the like, granting them disadvantage on their attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws until the end of your next turn.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier before taking a long rest.
