#### Sorcerer Bloodline ### Magus Magus sorcerers usually come from a lineage of sorcerers that serve a temple or a cult. However, their power comes not from their god, but through their bloodline. They weave the arcane with a modicum of divine power that has been imbued in them over the generations. ___ Magi are not bound to their gods like clerics are, but usually have fanatical focus and allegiance, and a will to carry out the vow sworn by their ancestors. #### Magus Magic You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Magus Spells table. Each spell counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know. These spells can’t be replaced when you gain a level in this class. ___ Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an abjuration or a evocation spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list. ##### Magus spells | Sorcerer level | Spells | |:---:|:---------------------------------------:| | 1st | Bless, Zephyr Strike | | 3rd | Spiritual Weapon, Blur | | 5th | Spirit Guardians, Blink | | 7th | Death Ward, Greater Invisibility | | 9th | Summon Celestial Spirit, Wall of force | #### Martial Prowess At 1st level, you acquire the training necessary to effectively arm yourself for battle. You gain proficiency in light armor, medium armor and shields. You can focus on a melee weapon over a short or long rest to make it your bonded weapon. You are proficient with this weapon, and use the weapon as your spellcasting focus. You can only have 2 bonded weapons at a time, and if bond with another, the first bond is broken. You can use your Charisma modifier for the attack and damage rolls when you attack with a bonded weapon. #### Magus Deflection At 1st level, you have learned to weave your magic to fortify yourself against harm. When you are hit by an attack or you fail a saving throw, you can use your reaction to gain a bonus to your AC against that attack or a bonus to that saving throw, equal to your proficiency modifier. When you use this feature, you can’t cast spells other than cantrips until the end of your next turn. \columnbreak
#### Magus Action At 6th level, you combine your sorcery with martial prowess in a deadly dance of blade and spells. When you use your action to cast a sorcerer spell, you can use your bonus action to make one weapon attack, or take the dash or disengage action. #### Imbued Body Starting at 14th level, your mystical connection to the arcane combined with your martial training grant you enhanced resilience. You gain resistance to one type of damage, and can change the damage type as part of a short rest. In addition, you deal an additional 1d8 damage of this damage type when you damage a creature with a cantrip or a weapon attack. #### Ascendant Magi At 18th level, you have perfected the magi techniques of weaving together magic and martial prowess. Once per turn, you can use Magus deflection without expending a reaction. In addition, when you cast a spell targeting yourself, you cannot lose concentration on it as a result of taking damage.
