# Old One

A long time ago, there was an ancient civilization that has long populated the plains of Lyyss. Through progress, both scientific and industrial, these people evolved into the people known today as the Old One. But they have a deep aversion to the Ancient Vampires. This is based on a legend as old as the ancestors of the Old Ones. There were once two brothers. One followed the path of his ancestors, while the other was interested in dark arts. One day, the brothers quarreled and left separately. One became a perfect leader of his clan, while the other became a Lord of Shadows. This brother was considered a traitor to his clan and was no longer welcomed. He created the vampires, and went to war against his former family. But in an act of self-sacrifice, the brother of the Shadow Lord sacrificed himself in order to banish him and his followers from this area forever. Since then they have been suspicious of others, especially the Ancient Vampires.

#### Names
The Old Ones use similar names to elves, or humans. Most old ones change their name once or twice in their lives to better match them.

**Size:** Medium

**Speed:** 30 ft.

**Age.** Old Ones age at a similar pace to humans, but usually live for 200 years.

**Alignment.** Old Ones are dependent on a life together, which often leads to lawful good alignments. Nevertheless, there are also isolated Old Ones who are often considered true neutral.

**Size.** Old Ones grow about the same size as humans and are similarly built. Your size is medium.

**Incredible visual acuity.** The Old Ones have specialized in hunting at night, and therefore have developed a strong visual acuity even in dark environments. You can see 1 mile further than you normally could, and you get darkvision at a range of 90 feet.

**Cunning Artisan.** As part of a short rest, you can harvest bone and hide from slain beast, construct, dragon, monstrosity, or plant creature of size small or larger to create one of the following items: a shield, a club, a javelin, or 1d4 darts or blowgun needles. To use this trait, you need a blade, such as a dagger, or appropriate artisan's tools, such as leatherworker's tools.

**Old Hunting Techniques.** By passing on the knowledge about weapons and their uses to the next generation, you get proficency with simple weapons.

**Hunter's Lore.** You gain proficiency with two of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Nature, Perception, Stealth, and Survival.

**Older Blood.** You can pray to an ancient god of nature for help. You can send a prayer to the nature deity as an action, and then roll on the support tables below. You can use a new table at level 5 and one at level 10. In addition, from level 10 on you can decide which creature comes to your aid. The creature that comes to your aid will take your orders, and you can communicate with it telepathically. (No action required.) The creature will follow your commands as best it can. If you are incapacitated, it ignores your last command and protects you. The creature will stay with you until it dies, you release it, or after 1 hour has past. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your constitution modifier. You will get all uses back after a long rest.

**Language** You can speak, read, and write Old Common and Old Ones Sign Language, a language that is often used to communicate while not making a sound yourself. It consists of various signs made with the hands. It depends on the hand and finger position, and also on the speed of the signs.
