Monastic Tradition:
Way of the Scaled Fist
Monks who follow this tradition strive to emulate the physical perfection of the ultimate predator: the dragon.
| Monk Level | Feature |
|---|---|
| 3rd | Elemental Strikes, Frightful Display |
| 6th | Wyrm's Breath |
| 11th | Dragon Skin, Extended Wyrm's Breath |
| 17th | Scaled Champion |
Elemental Strikes
When you follow this tradition at 3rd level, you learn to channel the power of dragons through your body.
Your unarmed strikes deal your choice of acid, bludgeoning, cold, fire, lightning or poison damage.
In addition, you can use a bonus action to increase the reach of your unarmed strikes by 30 feet until the end of your turn.
Frightful Display
Also at 3rd level, when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can spend a ki point to make onlookers recoil in fear.
All creatures of your choice, within 30 feet of you that can see you, must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Ki Save DC or or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the this feature for the next 24 hours.
Wyrm's Breath
From 6th level, you can channel the elemental devastation of the great wyrms. As an action, you can spend 1 or more ki points to exhale a devastating stream or cone of elemental energy.
All creatures within a 15-foot cone or a 30-foot line must make a Dexterity saving throw (or a Constitution saving throw if you chose cold or poison damage) against your Ki Save DC or take a number of your martial arts dice as damage of the selected type for each ki point spent. Taking half as much damage on a success.
At 11th level, you exhale a 30-foot cone or 60-foot line.
Dragon Skin
Beginning at 11th level, you can spend 5 ki points as a bonus action, to gain resistance to acid, cold, fire, lightning, and poison damage for 1 hour.
Scaled Champion
At 17th level, you gain the ability to sprout a pair of dragon wings from your back, gaining a flying speed equal to your current speed. You can create these wings as a Bonus Action on your turn. They last until you dismiss them as a Bonus Action on your turn.
You can’t manifest your wings while wearing armor, and clothing not made to accommodate your wings might be destroyed when you manifest them.
