Oath of the Himbo

Above all else, Himbos and their gender-neutral Thembo cousins are three things: strong, dumb, and respectful. They're lacking in classical intelligence, but make up for it with emotional intelligence and empathy, which drive them to make the people around them feel safe, comfortable, and protected. Himbos that take up the oath strive to not only cultivate strength, but use it for the good of others.

Tenets of the Himbo

Himbos of the world unite, and repeat after me.

  • We will stand big. We will stand strong.
  • We will stay dumb. We will no think.
  • And by this oath we swear today, now and forever, we protect drink.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Paladin Level Spells
3rd purify food and drink, sanctuary
5th enhance ability, enlarge/reduce
9th beacon of hope, dispel magic
13th death ward, guardian of faith
17th bigby's hand, greater restoration

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

No Think. As a bonus action, you can use your Channel Divinity to partially shut down your intellect and funnel more power into your muscles. For 10 minutes, you have disadvantage on ability checks and saving throws with Intelligence, but advantage on ability checks and saving throws with Strength and Constitution. Additionally, when you hit with an attack using Strength, you deal an additional 1d4 damage.

Dumb, But Cute. As an action, you can use your Channel Divinity to exude an aura of harmless, likable stupidity, which makes people question whether you're really a threat. You force each creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw. Creatures that are already hostile towards you have advantage on the saving throw. On a failed save, a creature becomes charmed by you for 1 minute, and will find you likable and non-threatening. The effect immediately ends on a charmed creature if it sees you make any attempt to harm it or another creature.

Aura of Respect

Starting at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have advantage on saving throws against enchantment magic and being charmed while you are conscious.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Beauty and Brawn

Starting at 15th level, whenever you make a Charisma check, you can also add your Strength modifier to the roll. Additionally, whenever you make a Strength check, you can also add your Charisma modifier to the roll. When you make an attack roll with Strength, you can choose to add your Charisma modifier to the attack roll. You can choose to do this after you roll, but before you know the outcome of the roll. You can do this a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, a minimum of 1 time. You regain all uses when you finish a long rest.

The Himbo King

At 20th level, you can use your action to transform into the ultimate himbo. For 1 hour, you gain the following benefits:

  • Your Strength score increases to 24, if it is not already higher.
  • You are under the effects of the mind blank spell.
  • You gain the benefits of your No Think Channel Divinity feature for the duration. The extra damage you deal increases to 1d6.
