Spirit Seals
Requires: Wondrous Item; Uncommon; No Attunement
Image: Spirit Sealing Talisman
These items come in many different forms, usually taking the form of a slip of paper, the seal painted on with ink. There are many types of Demon and Spirit Seals, more commonly referred to as Talismans; including flame, explosive, forbiddance, Spirit destroying, Spirit sealing, transportation, warning, signaling and, -though taboo in it's use- Spirit attraction.
Most talismans only have a one time use, and the seals must be painted with accuracy, otherwise they can be easily broken by spirits. One would be wise to seek out a known Cultivator of Spirits, who can make such talismans for a fee, however, one can create their own provided they are taught or teach themselves through trial and error. One would do this at their own risk and understanding of the consequences...
To create a talisman, first you must know the correct characters that must be used. Make a Religion Check to find the correct ones. Then, given you have the required tools to create a talisman (which are listed below), make an Arcana Check to create the desired talisman.
Once complete, these talismans can be used somewhat like Spells, or, if multiple of the same type are in use in one area, and Area of Effect; however this usually only occurs with Forbiddance; Spirit Destroying; Spirit Sealing & Spirit Attraction Talismans.

Mechanics & Uses
Talismans can be made by just about anyone, however there it an amount of skill involved. For complicated talismans, more skill would be involved. Each Talisman has a certain amount of skill needed to create, and some are incredibly difficult -or more accurately, near impossible- to create. Usually, one would have to study with a Cultivator to truly gain an understanding of how Talismans work and are created. Certain clans, such as the Uteki, Hato and Hikari families, as well as their branch off clans, are uniquely skilled in creating these Talismans, some members dedicating their life to the study and use of them.
