PART I

The art of Devouring

New Optional System: General Vore

While specific character archetypes, racial abilities, feats, and other features might allow a character to consume a living enemy whole, simply allowing any character to do so creates a dangerous mechanical balancing challenge, but we still wanted to allow characters to create that fantasy of being able to vore enemies without having to necessarily take one of a handful of possible archetypes. Instead, we've created the following system.

Devour Your Enemies

Using this optional system, characters can be tagged as 'Voracious', similar to how characters can be tagged as Lactating in the Lactation system covered in Matron Lustre's Book of Secrets. Any Archetype or feature that grants the ability to swallow enemies whole granted by any previous book now tags the character as Voracious, and certain races and creatures in this book are always considered Voracious. Beyond that, whether or not a character is considered Voracious is up to the Game Master and their players.

Mechanics of Voracity

A Voracious character is able to consume any of their enemies that have died as a bonus action. They can also use their reaction to consume an enemy when they deal the killing blow against them with a melee attack roll. When a character does so, they swallow the target whole, consuming them and any items and equipment they had worn or carried. The body of the fallen becomes fatty food in the character's stomach equal to 1/10th of the character's total weight, including items and equipment. If this weight would be more than the character could fit in their stomach, including a roll for Overstuffing yourself, then the character is unable to swallow the target whole and spits them back out. If a character successfully consumes an enemy, any consumable items on the enemy's person are consumed and activated immediately, and any non-consumable items and equipment are coughed back up at the end of the next short or long rest, though any non-magical items may be damaged.

Additional Optional System: Stretching the Stomach

In a campaign using these rules, consuming inordinately large meals all at once will become commonplace, and a system may be needed to allow characters to train their stomach capacity to increase it, similarly to how Lactating characters can increase their Milk Capacity. This optional system can be used by any character, even those not tagged as Voracious. A number of times per week equal to a character's Constitution modifier (minimum 1), whenever a character consumes the most food they possibly can, including a roll for Stuffing themselves, they can attempt to increase their stomach capacity by attempting a single Eating Action to eat even more.

This is a rare situation in which a character can voluntarily attempt to eat beyond their limit while Stuffed. When the character does so, they must make a Constitution Saving throw (DC 10 + their Proficiency Bonus), increasing their stomach capacity by an amount equal to their proficiency bonus on a success. Any Food consumed beyond this increased limit by the Eating Action made to attempt this causes Overstuffing damage as normal. If the character fails the Saving throw, they suffer a level of exhaustion, their stomach capacity is not increased, and they suffer Overstuffing damage as normal for the additional food they consumed.

PART II

Heroes of the Gorge

New Race: Giff

The original Giff race is created by Wizards of the Coast as a creature type. This is a modification to both serve as a player race and also fit within the confines of the ExpanD&D settings.

These 7-foot tall hippo-headed humanoids originally hail from distant lands, and have propagated across worlds by sailing the astral sea. A people with a profoundly military society, the Giff are often employed as mercenaries across the worlds they visit. Some have even come to call such worlds their homes, particularly those who landed on Osbera and similar planes effected by the emergence of Lipomancy. Some worlds even house entire Giff colonies, having set down roots in these worlds and lived there for some generations.

Giff Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2.

Age. Giff mature at roughly the same rate as humans and live about as long.

Alignment. Most giff raised in their own culture tend towards militaristic upbringings, giving them a lawful lean.

Size. Giff average around 7 feet, and can sometimes even come up to 9. They tend to tower over others. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Military Minds.(C) You gain proficiency in two skills of your choice chosen from among Athletics, History, Insight, or Perception.

Giff Weapon Training.(C) You gain proficiency with firearms.

Headfirst Charge.(A) Your massive size and head are built for charging. If you move at least 20 feet in a straight line that ends within 5 feet of a creature no more than one size larger than you and take the attack action against them, you may replace one of your attacks with a headbutt. This is considered an unarmed strike that deals 2d6 bludgeoning damage, and on a hit, the target must make a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus) or be knocked prone.

Massive Mouth.(A) with the head of a hippopotamus, the Giff have enormous mouths suited to taking in extroardinary amounts of food. They may add double their Constitution modifier (minimum 2) to their Eating skill rather than their normal Constitution modifier, both for skill checks and to determine their stomach capacity.

Subrace. Two subraces of Giff can be found among the worlds of ExpanD&D: Spelljamming Giff and Terrestrial Giff

Language. You can speak, read, and write Common and one language of your choice.

Spelljamming Giff

These Giff are the variety most commonly seen by adventurers; the wanderers of the stars who serve as mercenaries and honorbound admirals of the astral sea.

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 1.

Honorbound.(C) Spelljamming Giff are bound by a strong code of honor and appreciate the same in others. You gain advantage on any Charisma ability checks made against another creature with a strong cultural code of honor.

Firearms Knowledge.(C) Your mastery of your weapons enables you to ignore the loading property of muskets and pistols.

Terrestrial Giff

These giff have settled down on terrestrial worlds, typically near aquatic areas where they can enjoy the ocean and still practice their sailing, and although over generations their mercenary ways have laxed, they are still highly efficient and military-cultured. Instead of the heavy regimentation and honor-code of the Spelljamming Giff, however, they have adapted a more Mystic and spiritual bent, becoming in tune with the natural world around them.

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Speech of Beast and Leaf.(C) You have the ability to communicate in a limited manner with beasts and plants. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return. You have advantage on all Charisma checks you make to influence them.

Strong Swimmers.(C) You have a Swim speed equal to your Walking speed.
