The Raven Queen

Your patron is the Raven Queen, a mysterious being who rules the Shadowfell from a palace of ice deep within that dread realm.

Expanded Spell List

The Raven Queen lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Raven Queen Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1st false life, sanctuary
2nd silence, gentle repose
3rd feign death, speak with dead
4th guardian of faith, locate creature
5th commune, dispel evil and good

Bonus Cantrip

At 1st level, you learn the spare the dying cantrip. It counts as a warlock cantrip for you, but does not count against your number of cantrips known.

Sentinel Raven

Starting at 1st level, you gain the service of a spirit sent by the Raven Queen to watch over you. The spirit assumes the form and game statistics of a raven, and it always obeys your commands, which you can give telepathically while it is within 100 feet of you.

While the raven is perched on your shoulder, you gain darkvision with a range of 30 feet and gain proficiency in the perception skill, if you don't already have it. While perched on your shoulder, the raven can’t be targeted by any attack or other harmful effect; it can’t take damage nor benefit from any spells or abilities; and it is incapacitated.

You can see through the raven’s eyes and hear what it hears while it is within 100 feet of you.

In combat, you roll initiative for the raven and control how it acts.

The raven doesn’t require sleep. While it is within 100 feet of you, it can awaken you from sleep as an action.

The raven vanishes when it dies, if you die, or if the two of you are separated by more than 5 miles. At the end of a long rest, you can call the raven back to you—no matter where it is or whether it died—and it reappears within 5 feet of you.

Soul of the Raven

At 6th level, you gain the ability to merge with your raven spirit. As a bonus action when your raven is perched on your shoulder, your mind merges with your raven’s. While merged, you gain advantage on perception (Wisdom) checks, and you can use your action only to Dash, Disengage, Dodge, Help, Hide, or Search. During this time, you retain the bonus to your passive Wisdom (Perception) score and to Wisdom (Perception) checks granted by Sentinel Raven. This feature lasts for 10 minutes or until your concentration is broken (as if you are concentrating on a spell). You can also dismiss it as a bonus action.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Raven’s Shield

At 10th level, the Raven Queen grants you a protective blessing. You gain resistance to necrotic damage and have advantage on saves against being frightened.

Additionally, whenever you use a divination spell to track an undead creature, such as scrying or locate creature, the creature has disadvantage on the save.

Audience with the Queen

Starting at 14th level, you can invoke the finality of the Raven Queen's will. As an action, choose a creature you can see within 60 feet of you. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw, on a failed save suffering the following effects based on its current hit points:

  • 50 hit points or fewer: frightened
  • 40 hit points or fewer: frightened and deafened
  • 30 hit points or fewer: frightened, deafened, and blinded
  • 20 hit points or fewer: frightened, deafened, blinded, and stunned
  • 10 hit points or fewer: killed instantly and cannot become undead by any means short of a Wish spell

At the end of each of its turns until the effects end, the target can make a Wisdom saving throw. On a successful save, the effects end. Undead make this saving throw with disadvantage.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish 1d4 long rests.

Eldritch Invocations

At 2nd level, a warlock gains the Eldritch Invocations feature. Here are new options for that patron.

Chronicle of the Raven Queen

Prerequisite: Raven Queen patron, Pact of the Tome feature

You can place a corpse’s hand or similar appendage on your Book of Shadows and ask one question aloud. After 1 minute, the answer appears written in blood in your book. The answer is provided by the dead creature’s spirit to the best of its knowledge and is translated into a language of your choice. You must use this ability within 1 minute of a creature’s death, and a given creature can only be asked one question in this manner.

Gift of The Raven Queen

Prerequisite: 7th level, Raven Queen patron

You can cast polymorph without expending a warlock spell slot, targeting only yourself and changing only to a giant raven. While in this form you gain proficiency in wisdom (perception) checks. You can't do so again until you finish a long rest.

Expert Raven

Prerequisites: 5th level, Raven Queen patron

While your raven is within 60 feet of you, it gains a bonus to AC, attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws equal to your proficiency modifier (the extra damage count as necrotic damage).

Raven Queen's Sanctum

Prerequisite: 9th level, Raven Queen patron

You can cast hallow once using a warlock spell slot. You cannot do so again until you finish a long rest. When you cast the spell this way, undead cannot be excluded from the spell's effects, and you can apply only everlasting rest with it.
