Way of the Oni

Strong Arm of the Oni

At 3rd level, when you chose this tradition, choose a melee weapon that has the heavy property. You gain proficiency with the weapon if you don't already have it. This weapon counts as a monk weapon for you.

Black Magic Curse

Additionally, at 3rd level, when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or a monk weapon you can spend 1 Ki Point to inflict a terrible curse on that creature for 1 minute. As a reaction, you can force a creature on its turn to make a Wisdom saving throw against your Ki save DC. On a failed save that creature will lash out and attack the closest creature to it, this attack has advantage if they attack a creature also under your curse and on a successful save takes necrotic damage equal to a roll on your Martial Art die.

Fathomless Hunger

At 6th level, your power drain you and burdens you with a deep and painful hunger. When you kill a creature you can eat part of their corpse in an attempt to temporarily satiate yourself. When you do you gain temporary hit points equal to your Monk level + your Constitution modifier. You can do this a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier per long rest. Additionally, you gain a powerful bite. It counts as a natural weapon that deals piercing damage equal to a roll on your Martial Arts die + 1d4 poison damage.

Horns of the Demon King

At 11th level, you grow one to three horns as the dark powers within you begin to morph your body. When a creature is under your curse they have disadvantage on their first attack they attempt to make against you on their turn.

True Immortality

At 17th level, your body has been contorted and twisted into the perfect form for survivability. You gain the following benefits;

  • You can't be killed by being beheaded.
  • You no longer need to eat or drink but can so if you choose.
  • You no longer need to breath.
  • You have advantage on death saving throws.
