Propulsionist Armor Model
This is an additional type of armor that can be made available with the armorer artificer's Armor Model feature. Your DM may allow this model to replace either the Guardian or the Infiltrator when you gain the Armor Model feature. Alternatively, you may gain it as an additional option by having it taught to you by an artificer who specializes in it (see the Training downtime activity in Xanathar's Guide to Everything), or by otherwise unlocking it during your adverture at your DM's discretion.
Armor Model
Propulsionist. You designed your armor to include propulsion rockets in the hands that can be used for attacks or flight. It has the following features.
- Propulsion Blast. Each of the armor's gauntlets counts as a simple melee weaon while you aren't holding anything in it, and it deals 1d8 force damage on a hit. A creature hit by the gauntlet must make a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC or be pushed up to 10 feet away from you.
- Rocket Gauntlets. The force rockets installed into your gauntlets give you a primitive form of at-will flight. As an action, you can use the gauntlets to give yourself a flying speed of 30 feet until the start of your next turn. If you have the Extra Attack feature, you can do this action in place of one of your attacks. If you use this action more than once on your turn, your base flying speed increases by 30 feet for each additional time you take the action. If you don't take your action to fly but you're in the air, you can use your bonus action to stay aloft in your current position.
- Emergency Landing. If you are falling and will hit the ground this round, you can use your reaction to soften the landing with your rocket gauntlets and negate all fall damage.
Perfected Armor
Your Arcane Armor gains additional benefits based on the model, as shown below.
Propulsionist. You add more advanced force rockets to your feet and back, significantly stabilizing your flight. While you are wearing it, your Arcane Armor gives you a permanent flying speed of 60 feet. You can use your Rocket Gauntlets feature to increase this speed by 60 feet per action you take. Additionally, when a creature fails its saving throw against your Propulsion Blast, it is also knocked prone.
