# Circle of Motherlodes - 5E Druid Subclass ### by Nines, V2.0 ## Diamonds in the Rough All things must return to the earth, sooner or later. Druids of the Circle of Motherlodes draw energy from the earth's natural riches, channeling the power of nature via gemstone fragments. ## Subclass Features ### Circle Spells When you join this circle at 2nd level, your connection to the earth grants you access to some spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Circle of Motherlodes Spells table. Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the Druid Spell List, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

### Appraisal * Starting at level 2, you can ascertain the value of gemstones with complete certainty. \columnbreak ### Earth's Bounty At level 2, you can subconsciously draw gemstone fragments from the earth. After a long rest, you obtain your choice of a gemstone from the following list. You may also gain an additional gemstone by expending a use of your Wild Shape. These gemstone fragments have no monetary value, and they disintegrate after a long rest or after being expended. At level 6, you may obtain two gemstone fragments per long rest, and at level 14, you may obtain three per long rest. A gemstone fragment can be crushed as an action, granting its effects to a willing creature within 5 feet. The effects of a gemstone fragment cannot stack with another gemstone of the same crystal. * ***Amber:*** For the next minute, the targeted creature can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to every attack roll and saving throw they make for the next minute. * ***Agate:*** For the next hour, the targeted creature gains proficiency in a skill or tool of their choice. * ***Quartz:*** For the next hour, the targeted creature's speed increases by 10 feet. * ***Onyx:*** For the next hour, the targeted creature has 10 feet of blindsight. ### Cavernous Eyes At 6th level, your eyes adjust to better guide you in the darkness. As an action, you may gain 30 feet of blindsight for 10 minutes. While this effect is active, your eyes become as blackened as the depths of a cavern. In addition, while this effect is active, you can also sense nonmagical gemstones within range of your blindsight. You may use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier. You regain all spent uses of this feature after a long rest. \pagebreak ### Gemstone Guard At 10th level, your bond with the earth deepens, and your magic resonates with the lingering magic released by a spent gemstone fragment. Any creature you target with one of your gem fragments gains temporary Hit Points equal to 3x your Druid level. ### Treasure Hunter At 14th level, your bond to the earth allows you to seek out its deepest treasures. You may obtain a gemstone of your choice worth up to 100g per long rest, and at the end of a long rest, you may also transform any value of gemstones into a single gemstone with value equal to the total value of gemstones exchanged. In addition, when you cast a spell that uses gemstones as material components, they are not consumed. ### Earth's Seal Also at 14th level, your bond to the earth allows you to entrap magic and souls within its treasures, returning them to the natural cycle. You can cast *soul cage* once without expending any spell slots, and you may use a crystal or gemstone as the material component for this spell. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest. \columnbreak ### Changelog V2.0 - Pretty much a full rework. Expect further changes in future versions. - Added Circle Spells. Spells from the old 2nd and 14th level features now go here. I try to stay away from non-PBH books to make arranging things easier on my group, so if you feel like a spell should be here but isn't that's probably why. Feel free to substitute them in. - Earth's Bounty: All of the gemstone effects changed, should be in line with Alchemist's potions.
