Guardian of the Cycle

The archetypal guardian of the cycle is one who plays into the concepts of fate and destiny as they would pertain to the changing of the seasons, and the changes that follow autumn in specific, to manipulate their friends and foes into more ideal situations.

Most guardians don't seek out combat, as many find happiness in the friends they have, and value showing appreciation above all else. This typically manifest in a guardian spending more than necessary on creature comforts for their allies and viewing each person as a potential friend.

Golden Wind

3rd level guardian of the cycle feature


Whenever you use your Second Wind feature, you will also manifest the cooling wind of autumn which will move with you and extend 15 feet from you in every direction. For the next minute, allies within this wind will add an additional 1d4 to their attack roles and saving throws. Enemies within this wind will subtract 1d4 from their attack roles and saving throws.

The die size a creature will add or subtract from attack roles and saving throws will increase as you gain levels in this class: d6 at 10th level, and d8 at 18th level.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.

Fated Cycles

3rd level guardian of the cycle feature


Whenever you, or a creature you can see up to 30 feet away, would make an ability check, attack role, or saving throw with advantage or disadvantage from a source other than this feature, you can give one ability check, attack role, or saving throw of your choice the opposite effect until the end of your next turn.

You can grant advantage or disadvantage twice this feature and will regain any expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.

This increases to three uses per short or long rest at 10th level.

Mellowed Soul

7th level guardian of the cycle feature


You learn the friends cantrip. Whenever you cast this cantrip, it will use the following effects in place of the spells normal effects:

  • The spell now as a duration of up to 10 minutes.

  • A creature subjected to this spells effect will not become automatically hostile towards you after the spells duration is finished. They are still aware that you used magic to influence them, but they decide how they will react based on your behavior and actions while the spell was still in effect.

You can cast this spell a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus and will regain any expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Bountiful Harvest

15th level guardian of the cycle feature


You can cast the heroes feast spell without a spell slot or material components.

Once you use this feature, you must finish 1d4 + 1 long rest before you can use it again.

Autumn's Requiem

18th level guardian of the cycle feature


Whenever you, or an ally within your Golden Wind rolls a 1 on a d20 for an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can treat the roll as a 20 instead.

Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
