Law, order, and robots
Aasimar are the spawn of the good aligned planes, and tieflings are the spawn of the evil aligned planes. However, what about those whose ancestry are from Mechanus, the plane of law? Enter the mechanatrix, the natural cyborg from former editions of D&D. Despite them being an interisting part of the world, they are currently missing from 5e. So, until they get officially added, feel free to use this homebrew to implement them. I tried my best to replicate how they worked in previous editions, with some changes to either make them work or for balance purposes. With that out of the way, on to the lore and stats.
Unlike aasimar and tieflings who's parents can be fiends or celestials, every mechanatrix has been the other way by having the children of pregnant women become them. This is because the residents of Mechanus, the modrons, are mechanical and thus cannot reproduce. The women chosen for this are typically law abiding citizens, and are often worshipers of Primus, god of law. However, depending on what Primus has planned for the mechanatrix, they will give them to a parent they believe will best produce that outcome.
Mechantrix are usually very lawful and logical, their minds running calculations to figure out how to do things efficiently. However, like any race, they can diverge from this. Physically, they are partially mechanical. Be it cybernetic eyes, random pipes or tubes, plating on the skin, metallic skeleton, or synthetic organs, anything is possible for them. Each Mechanatrix is unique in its placement of machinery, and they function identically to what they replace normally. They will even heal at the same rate as organic components.

Mechanatrix Traits
The Mechanatrix gain the following features.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2.
Age. Mechanatrix live for the same amount of time as the race their biological parents were.
Allignment. Mechanatrix are typically Lawful, with no leaning towards good or evil.
Size. Mechanatrix are usually the same height as their biological parent's race, however they tend to grow to about 5' if they were a small sized race. You are considered medium.
Speed. You have a base speed of 30 feet.
Body of Metal. You have a flat +1 bonus to AC.
Born for a Purpose. You gain proficiency in any 1 set of artisan's tools of your choice.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in Darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in Darkness, as everything looks green.
Voltic Resistance. You have resistance to Lightning damage.
Mechanus' Magic. You know the Shocking Grasp cantrip. When you reach 3rd level you can cast the Command spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so with a long rest. When you reach 5th level you can cast the Zone of Truth spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so with a long rest. Your spellcasting ability for these spells is Constitution.
Modron Whisperer. Due to your unique heritage, you can communicate to any modron, regardless of it's rank. This is treated as if you shared a language with it.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one language of your choice.
