## The Mechanus Contract ### You have by some means traveled to the plane of order Mechanus or made contact with a high ranking modron and signed a contract of mutual benefit. They must uphold the order and terms of the contract or find themselves at the mercy of the bureaucracy of Mechanus. #### Expanded Spell List ##### Contract Expanded Spells | Spell Level | Spells | |:------------:|:-----------| | 1st | *alarm, magic missile* | | 2nd | *lesser restoration, zone of truth* | | 3rd | *glyph of warding, protection from energy* | | 4th | *locate creature, summon construct* | | 5th | *dispel evil and good, greater restoration* | #### Terms of Service At 1st level, you gain proficiency in one skill of your choice. Additionally, you learn one cantrip of your choice from any spell list. This spell counts as a warlock spell for you and does not count against the number of cantrips you can know. #### Contractors Adjudication Additionally, at 1st level, the terms of your contract allow you the authority over order. When a creature within 30 feet of you has advantage or disadvantage on a saving throw or attack roll, as a reaction you can mechanically correct their fortune. That creature loses their advantage or disadvantage on that roll.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) per short or long rest. \columnbreak
#### Contracted Underlings At 6th level, your status as a contractor gives you an honorary rank in the hierarchy of Mechanus. This rank allows you to command some of the forces of order. As an action you can summon modrons that appear in unoccupied spaces that you can see within 60ft of you. Choose one of the following options for what appears, all of them remaining for 10 minutes before disappearing:
* One Pentadrones * Two Quadrones * Four Tridrones * Eight Duodrones ___ The modrons are friendly to you and your companions for the duration. The modrons all take their turn immediately after yours. They obey any verbal commands that you issue to it (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to the modrons, they defend themself from hostile creatures but otherwise take no actions.
You can summon modrons in this way once, and regain the ability to do so again after finishing a long rest. #### Primus Deductions At 10th level, when an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage against you by your warlock level plus your Charisma modifier. You can use this feature twice per short or long rest. \pagebreak #### Contract Drafter At 14th level, your knowledge of the laws of order have granted you the power to draft up contracts of your own. You can spend a period of 10 minutes with a piece of parchment and a scribing tool to create the terms of the contract. You can choose one of the following contract types;
***Trade Contract:*** The creature that signs this contract is subject to an exchange. You choose an item, piece of information, or an amount of currency and the creature chooses an item, piece of information, or an amount of currency. The chosen options must be exchanged before the end of the contract duration. If there were physical objects exchanged the objects return to their original owners if the contract is broken.
***Magic Lending:*** The creature that signs this contract gains 1 spell of 1st or 2nd level that you know. The creature can cast this spell once per long rest for the duration of the contract. Charisma is the spellcasting ability for this spell.
***Peace Treaty:*** The creature that signs this contract cannot take hostile actions against the you and up to 5 creatures of your choice for the duration of the contract. Hostile actions include: causing any direct damage or negative condition.
Once a willing creature signs the contract the terms come into effect for 24 hours to a maximum 1 week. You can only have 1 contract active at a time.
***Dealbreaker Clause.*** Included in each type of contract is a penalty for breaking the terms within, chosen when the contract is signed. If someone breaks the terms of the contract, they lose all the benefits of the contract and are subject to one of the following effects: - The creature is sent to Mechanus for the chosen duration of the original contract. - The creature takes 10d10 force damage. \columnbreak ## Eldritch invocations ### Ordered Blast *Prerequisite: Mechanus Contract Patron, Eldritch Bast cantrip*
When you cast Eldritch Blast, you can mechanically regulate the damage it deals on a hit. Rather than rolling dice each beam automatically deals 5 damage. ### Modron Intern *Prerequisite: Mechanus Contract Patron, Pact of the Chain*
Mechanus sends a new recruit to be trained by you. Your familiar can take on the form of a Monodrone. ### Contract: Restraining Order *Prerequisite: level 14, Mechanus Contract Patron*

Choose a distance from 30-300ft, the creature that signs the contract cannot come within that distance of the chosen creature. The creature will be alerted telepathically if they come to close to the other creature. Willingly ignoring or remaining within the barred distance form more than 10 minute will result in breaking the terms of this contract. ### Hanged Mans Burden *Prerequisite: level 20, Mechanus Contract Patron*
