Path of the Berserker Revisited
These are alternate subclass features for the Path of the Berserker barbarian subclass contained in the Player's Handbook. The Berserker blends ruthless efficiency with psychological warfare to erode the morale of their enemies.
Mania
3rd-level Path of the Berserker feature, which replaces the Frenzy feature Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can induce mania when you rage. If you do so, as part of the bonus action you take to enter your rage, you can make one melee attack. On each of your turns after this one, you can make one melee attack with your bonus action. When your rage ends, make a Constitution saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier). If you fail, you gain one level of exhaustion.
Careless Wrath
6th-level Path of the Berserker feature, which replaces the Mindless Wrath feature Beginning at 6th level, the idea that you could do anything other than continue to fight becomes ridiculous. You can't be charmed or frightened while raging, and you have advantage on all saving throws against effects that would cause you to change your behavior. If you are charmed or frightened when you enter your rage, the effect is suspended for the duration of the rage. Also starting at this level, if you have any levels of exhaustion you can ignore one level while raging.
Menacing Presence
10th-level Path of the Berserker feature, which replaces the Intimidating Presence feature Beginning at 10th level, you can use your action or your bonus action to emphasize your menacing presence. When you do so, all creatures of your choice within 30 feet of you that can see or hear you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or become frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
The first time on your turn that you damage a creature frightened of you this way, it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or remain frightened of you until the end of your next turn. If you are raging and have invoked your mania, a creature must repeat the save every time you damage it on your turn unless it has already failed its saving throw for this turn.
The effect automatically ends for a creature if it ends its turn out of line of sight or more than 60 feet away from you.
If a creature succeeds on its initial saving throw or the effect ends for it, it is immune to this effect for 24 hours.
Cruel Revenge
14th-level Path of the Berserker feature, which replaces the Retaliation feature Starting at 14th level, when you take damage from a creature within range of your melee attacks, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against that creature. If the creature is frightened of you, you can move up to your speed towards the creature before attacking it. If this attack is a critical hit or reduces the creature to 0 hit points, you regain your reaction.
