# Oath of the People - 5E Paladin Subclass ### by Nines ## No Heaven and No Hell The Oath of the People dictates that the good of the people comes first and foremost, superseding law and chaos, good and evil alike. * ***All are needed.*** Ensure the well-being of the people, no matter what it costs - or who. * ***All shall be equal.*** Though our roles may differ, no person is of greater importance, and no task is too trivial to take on. * ***All must be safe.*** Preemptive action must be taken to ensure the future safety of the people. Poverty kills just as easily as a sword. * ***All can be capable.*** Every member has potential to be nourished; the continued survival of the people depends on cultivating our pool of talents. * ***All are welcome.*** Those who would seek shelter from destruction are no different from any other - if, truly, they seek shelter, and not destruction itself. ## Subclass Features ### Oath Spells You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed. | Paladin Level | Oath Spells | |:--:|:-----------| | 3rd | *sanctuary, unseen servant* | | 5th | *calm emotions, enhance ability* | | 9th | *tiny hut, plant growth* | | 13th | *freedom of movement, private sanctum* | | 17th | *mass cure wounds, hallow* | ### Channel Divinity: Mass Surge - As a bonus action, you may present your holy symbol, and any creatures you choose in 30 feet may move up to half their movement. This movement doesn't provoke Attacks of Opportunity. ### Channel Divinity: Rallied Spirit - As a bonus action, you may present your holy symbol, and any creatures you choose within 30 feet gain temporary Hit Points equal to 1d6 + your Charisma modifier. This increases to 2d6 + Charisma modifier at level 9 and 3d6 + Charisma modifier at level 15. \columnbreak ### Aura of Cooperation Starting at level 7, the aura you exude helps those around you cooperate in tandem. Any creatures other than yourself that you choose within 10 feet of you gain advantage on skill checks that you are proficient in. This radius expands to 30 feet at level 18. In addition, bludgeoning, slashing and piercing damage that these creatures take from non-magical weapons is reduced by 2. This effect cannot reduce damage taken below 1. ### Redistribution of Health Starting at 15th level, whenever you are healed by a spell, you may heal a creature you choose within 30 feet by half the amount healed. If this healing would heal a creature over its maximum Hit Points, the excess healing is given to it as temporary Hit Points instead. ### People's Champion At 20th level, you become empowered by the faith of those you defend. Using your action, you undergo a transformation. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits: - Any creature you attack has disadvantage to attack anything but yourself. - You have advantage when attacking creatures within 5 feet of an ally. Allied creatures within 5 feet of you also gain advantage to attack rolls. - When a creature within 60 feet uses its action to Dodge, you can give them 20 temporary Hit Points and resistance to all damage until the start of their next turn as a reaction.
