Operation: Broken Spear

The Terran Command welcomes to your new home, Castus I. You will leave Phoenix Station, which orbits the nearby gas giant of Castus II, shortly to your deployment.

Castus I is an inhospitable desert planet known for its primarily mountainous terrain, abundant resources, and near ceaseless war.

There exist two republics, which were once unified but after the Scream divided. The Republic of Greater Ix and Jidar, which are respectively comprised of the Ixians and Jidari peoples. Both are ethnic groups of meta-humans. The Ixians have multiple distinctive nose ridges, and Jidarians have various frontal cranial ridges.

The New Terran Republic has deigned to intervene in the long fought conflict on the side of Jidar, in order to obtain a lasting peace in the region and make the planet suitable for integration into the New Terran Republic.

Know Your Ally

The Jidari have few cities and primarily inhabit sprawling desert towns. They primarily harvest solar energy, operate massive condensation collectors, and mine rare crystals.

The Jidari military currently is outnumbered, untrained, and corrupt. This confluence of circumstances has lead to high casualties and a nation unwillingly to fight.

It is our mission to support their military and lead the vanguard against the Ixians.

We must also supplant the Afdar Corporation, who holds power in their parliament, over their resources, and their military. The Afdar Corporation has secured military supply contracts, appointments, and the hiring of Afdar military contractors. It is obvious they are more concerned with mining rights and the continuance of the war than total victory.

Additionally the Jidar National Army infantry wear sand-colored conventional combat armor and wear their distinctive orange berets.

Know Your Enemy

The Ixians primarily inhabit underground cities centered around intricate cave systems or vast mining networks. Their other population centers lie on top of and alongside mountains protected by large energy shields.

Militarily they enact defense in depth, prefer guerrilla tactics, and engage in acts of terror. Despite their denser population areas remaining either underground or in higher elevations, the Ixians control a majority of the land of the surface,

They use this to their advantage in order to both strain and strike at the logistics of the Jidari military.

The average Ixian regular wears light, flexible energy shield based armor with appropriate camoflauge.

Not Your Only Threat

Do not be fooled by the friendly Castus Jackelope, the deserts are stalked by carnivorous dog like pack creatures known as Slaughter Dogs. In the mountains there are Terror Birds who have a monstrous thirty foot wing span, as well as the possible primitive humanoid known by locals as the Tall Men in the local tongue.

Additionally other meta-human ethnic groups may be hostile to Terran or Jidari ground forces.

Lastly the unofficial paramilitary wing of the United Workers' Front, the Red Guard which is made up of both ethnic Ixian and Jidari, engage in attacks against both Ixian and Jidari militaries.

In Summary

Our mission is to defeat the Ixian military with minimal Terran casualties.
