The Frostmonger

Your patron is a powerful being that resides in the coldest corners of the universe, either by choice or imprisonment. Many of these entities embody the lands they dwell in, becoming apathetic, spiteful or cruel. They're goals can vary from vengeance, freedom or just the desire to see people succumb to the frostbite they control. many of these patrons enlist their warlocks after saving them from the elements, or after they uncover their frozen tomb, deep within the ice. Warlocks of Frostmongers can withstand the elements better than most, and gain an uncanny ability to conjure and shape ice to hinder foes and protect allies. patrons of this type include Auril The Frost Maiden, The Fey Prince of Frost, The Archdevil Levistus, ancient white or silver dragons or covens of bheur hags.

Expanded Spell List

The Frostmonger lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Frostmonger Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1st fog cloud, frost fingers
2nd gust of wind, pass without trace
3rd sleet storm, slow
4th ice storm, otiluke's resilient sphere
5th cone of cold, control winds
6th wall of ice

Tundra Dweller

At 1st level, you learn the shape water cantrip. This counts as a warlock cantrip for you, but doesn't count against your number of cantrips known. Additionally, you are naturally adapted to cold climates and high altitudes.

Blizzard Bringer

Starting at 1st level, your patron shrouds you in snow when you draw upon their power. Whenever you expend a warlock spell slot, you can choose to create a 5-foot radius sphere of whirling snows centered on yourself. The sphere lasts for 1 minute and moves with you, remaining centered on you. You can dismiss it at any time using a bonus action. While this wind is active, you are considered lightly obscured to others and your AC cannot be lower than 16.

Frozen Fortress

Starting at 6th level, you gain the Tomb of Levistus Invocation, and it doesn't count against the number of eldritch invocations you know. Furthermore, the invocation gains the following benefits:

  • You gain an additional use between short or long rests.
  • Whenever a willing creature within 30 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to use Tomb of Levistus on them.

Harbinger of Cold

Beginning at 10th level, you gain resistance to frost damage and whenever you you are under the effect of Blizzard Bringer, your AC can't be lower than 18, and you are considered heavily obscured to others. Whenever you take damage while under this effect, you must make a concentration check, if you fail, the effect ends.
Additionally, you can walk across any liquid (including lava or magma) as if it was a solid surface and without taking any damage, as the liquid freezes beneath your feet.

Coldsnap

At 14th level, you can unleash your patron frigid fury to protect or cripple those around you, coating them in indestructible ice. As an action, you can send out a wave of freezing power. Every creature of your choice within 30 feet of you (including yourself if you choose) must make a Constitution saving throw. A creature can choose to fail this saving throw. On a failure, a hostile creature takes 5d10 cold damage or half as much on a success. Also on a failure, any creature of large size or smaller is frozen in ice and is incapacitated for 10 minutes. While a creature is incapacitated in this way, it is immune to all damage and cannot be affected by spells. Any creature killed by this feature is frozen solid.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
