# Spiderfolk ___ Spiderfolk, a people of crafters and hunters. Often thought to be related to driders, but holds no relation to them at all. Being master weavers and great trappers, spiderfolk manage to easily live their life alone in the case of Arachnidians, with the Humanistics having integrated with human and elf societies and being far more sociable than their more spiderlike kin. ***A Multi-armed People.*** Spiderfolk naturally have 6 arms, allowing themselves a greater range of actions they can do, and the ability to create much greater creations with weaving than most other weavers could. ***Life in the Web.*** Many spiderfolk, while being able to live in a house, most often live within web like creations created over days or months of work. Often decorating them for holidays they observe, such as the Day of Wonders or Trolltide. ***Arachnid Mannerisms.*** Spiderfolk have a few mannerisms akin to their spider cousins. From a love of liquid foods, to capturing prey into webs and tying them up. ### Spiderfolk Traits Your spiderfolk character has the following traits. ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Dexterity Score increases by 2. ***Age.*** Spiderfolk are fully grown at 14 years of age and are capable of living upwards of 140 years. ***Alignment.*** Spiderfolk tend to be simple weavers, choosing to stay out of conflicts, usually being neutral aligned. ***Size.*** Spiderfolk have the same range of height and weight as humans. Your size is Medium. ***Speed.*** Your base walking speed is 30 feet. ***Silk Production.*** A spiderfolk can normally produce 50 feet of silken webbing within their body. When it is used they naturally replenish 5 feet of it every hour. It can be used in the following ways: - ***Silken Rope.*** The webbing your body produces can be used as rope. It has hit points equal to your level and can hold up to 800lbs. Additionally, it can be burst with a DC 17 Strength check - ***Web Trap.*** You may spend one hour to weave up to 50 feet of your webbing into a web, halting attackers and trapping them. For every 5-foot cube of web, you must spend 10 feet of your own webbing to create it. The webs must be anchored between two solid masses (such as walls or trees) or layered across a floor, wall, or ceiling. Each creature that starts its turn in the webs or that enters them during its turn must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is restrained as long as it remains in the webs or until it breaks free with a strength check. The DC for both the strength check and saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your Proficiency bonus. ***Multi-Armed.*** As a spiderfolk you have 6 arms. In order to wield a weapon, you must use 3 arms to count as one hand for wielding it. In the case of two handed weapons, you need to use all 6 arms in order to wield it. Performing Somatic components of spells requires only one arm. You can however, wield a shield with only two hands. ***Natural Climbers.*** You have a climb speed of 20 feet. ***Websense.*** While in contact with a web, you know the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web. ***Languages.*** You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice. ***Subrace.*** Spiderfolk have two major Subraces, the Arachnidian, and Humanistic Spiderfolk. \columnbreak \pagebreak
##### Arachnidian ***Ability Score Increase.*** Your Wisdom score increases by 1. ***Spiderlike Quality.*** As an Arachnidian, your body has an increased relation to spiders. Choose one of the following: - ***Improved Spinnerets.*** As a more spider-like version of your species, you have an increased ability to produce webbing and can use it to attack. Your webbing refills at 10 feet worth per hour instead of 5. You also gain a natural ranged attack with which you are proficient. It uses dexterity to attack and has a range of 30 feet. On a hit it causes the *restrained* condition and a creature can break out of it by passing a strength check with a DC of 8 + your Constitution modififier + your Proficiency Bonus. Alternatively, the target or another creature can break them out by dealing 6 slashing damage to the web (AC 10). This attack consumes 10 feet of webbing. - ***Naturally Venomous.*** Your body produces a natural venom, granting you an increased resistance to other venoms. You have resistance to poison damage. Also, you can create a number of doses of a potent venom equal to half your proficiency bonus rounded down (Minimum 1) on a long rest. This venom can be applied to piercing or slashing weapons as a bonus action. On a hit the target needs to make a Consitution saving throw. On a failed save it takes 1d6 poison damage and becomes *poisoned* for 1 minute. An affected creature can make a Constitution save on the end of their turn to end this effect early. The DC for the Saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your Proficiency bonus. These doses only hold potency for 8 hours when outside of your body. ***Spider's Bite.*** As an Arachnidian Spiderfolk you gain a natural bite attack. Your bite is a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit, you deal piercing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike. Additionally, you may use a dose of your Natural Venom as part of a successful attack with your bite.. ***Spiderpaws.*** Your arachnidian heritage allows you to climb more difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings. You also ignore movement restrictions caused by webbing. ##### Humanistic ***Ability Score Increase.*** One ability score of your choice other than Dexterity increases by 1. ***Spiderlike Instincts.*** When you make an Intelligence (Nature) or Wisdom (Survival) check, you can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the ability check. ***Strengthened Arms.*** Your Humanistic body grants you a single pair of strengthened arms. These 2 arms can wield weapons and wear shields easily on their own, two-handed weapons only require these two arms to properly wield them. Additionally, your other four arms are slightly strengthened as well. Your other four hands may do anything a normal one may do, but they can only wield light weapons, or wield a shield with two hands >#### Feats > >***Increased Web Production*** >[**Prerequisite: Spiderfolk**] >You refill 10 more feet of webbing per hour, and the amount of webbing you can hold within your body increases by 20 feet. >___ >***Natural Weaver.*** >[**Prerequisite: Spiderfolk**] >You have weaver's tools integrated into your body, and you may apply double your proficiency bonus for any ability checks you make with it.
