Otherworldy Patron: Draconic Blessing

Introduction

Naga was a junior archeologist renowned for their talents, despite being unable to use magic to aid the university's many expeditions. Though none of their peers can match their keenness with maps, Naga remained an outcast. Their talent only makes them more of a target for their peers. Their sneer and glance cut as deep as a dagger at their heart.

Naga would often sink themselves into their work to escape the judgment of their peers. Immersed in their work, they located a potential dig site that may prove to be of great historical significance. Eager to survey the land, they enter the cavern alone, marking key spots with a cross to warn the use of explosives. They turn to exit the cave before a sudden earthquake cover the cave entrance and slamming them into the side of the wall. Unable to leave the way they came, they march into the cave. The cave winds down like a circular staircase carved by giants. The red light of the flare used as a torch illuminates a large room, where at the center of the room sits the skeletal remain of a dragon, pinned to the earth with five large iron stakes inscribed with magical sigils.

The dragon's corpse rattle in their enchanted bindings as Naga approach. Though the dragon is missing its jaw, a voice boomed and echoed against the cavern's roof. "Ah, a visitor approaches this old wyrm. Ambition's the scent I smell on you. You wear it well." Said the old Dragon, "I can give you the means to gain more." Intrigued, Naga replied falteringly, "What? How?" The Dragon's replied, "With power. With a deal."
