Sorcerous Origin Spell Variants

With Wizard of the Coast's latest release Tasha's Cauldron of Everything came expanded spell lists for the two new Sorcerer Subclasses Abberant Mind and Clockwork Soul. Unfortunately this leaves previous subclasses unbalanced having a total of 10 fewer spells at 9th level. The following spell lists have be created arduously (definitely not copied directly from Unearthed Arcana) in order to patch this divide.

Note: Some may feel two spells per level in addition to the ability to choose spells from another spell list is a too large buff. In that case, the ability to substitute from other lists can be removed or require the removable of another Sorcerer 1st level ability.

Divine Soul

Divine Spells

1st level Divine Soul feature

  You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Divine Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be a conjuration or an evocation spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list.

Shadow Magic

1st level Shadow Magic feature

  You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Shadow Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be a illusion or an necromancy spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list.
