Monastic Tradition:

Way of the Force

The jedi are unparallelled masters of a special kind of magical energy that flows through all living things. Through meditation and willpower, jedi harness this power to create magical effects which augment their physical abilities, direct harmful energy at their foes, or manipulate the weak-minded.

Force scholar

At 3rd level, your mastery and knowledge exceeds all. You can read and write an additional number of languages equal to your proficiency modifier.

You also become proficient in your choice of two of the following skills: Arcana, History, Persuasion, Nature, Medicine, or Religion.

Lightsaber

At 3rd level, you gain the ability to activate a lightsaber.

As a bonus action, you can manifest a weapon of Force energy, called a lightsaber, for 1 minute. It counts as a monk weapon you are proficient with. While wielding this lightsaber, you gain the following abilities:

  • Your lightsaber functions as a longsword but deals radiant damage, and has the thrown property. It flies back to your hand at the end of your turn.

  • When you activate your lightsaber, you can use one of the following features, concentrating on it like a spell:

Wrathful. You add half your proficiency bonus (rounded down) to attack and damage rolls with your lightsaber.

Invincible. You add half your proficiency bonus (rounded down) to your AC.

Serene. You add half your proficiency bonus (rounded down) to saving throws.

Force Awakening:

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, your training allows you to harness the mystical energy of the Force and utilize force powers to cast certain spells.

Cantrips. You learn two cantrips of your choice from the jedi spell list. You learn an additional jedi cantrip of your choice at 10th level.

Spell Slots. The Jedi Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your jedi spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher, or a number of ki points equal to double the level of the spell. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

For example, if you know the 1st-level spell shield and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast shield using either slot.

Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher. You know three 1st-level jedi spells of your choice from the jedi spell list. The Spells Known column of the Jedi Spellcasting table shows when you learn more jedi spells of 1st level or higher. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.

Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the jedi spells you know with another spell of your choice from the jedi spell list. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.

Spellcasting Focus. You can use a force crystal as an arcane focus. A force crystal follows the same rules as a holy symbol.

Spellcasting Ability. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your jedi spells, since you learn your spells through understanding and mastery of the force. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a jedi spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Force grip

At 6th level, you gain the ability to manipulate objects with your mind. You can cast the telekinesis without any components by expending 2 ki points, targeting only an unworn and uncarried object of weight upto 10 pounds per your monk level.

Force sight

At 6th level, you gain the ability to tap into the force to see the true form of things. You can cast true seeing without any components by expending 2 ki points, targeting only yourself.

Improved lightsaber

At 11th level, your gain improved mastery with your lightsaber. When you activate your lightsaber, you can use one of the following features, concentrating on it like a spell:

Spellrender. You have advantage on saving throws against spells of a level less than your proficiency modifier. Creatures you hit with your lightsaber have disadvantage on their concentration check.

Lance. Your reach with your lightsaber increases to 10ft. When you move at least 20ft in a straight line and hit a creature with your lightsaber, it takes additional damage equal to 1d4 per your proficiency modifier.

Weavewalker. When you use step of the wind, you gain a flying speed equal to your movement speed until the end of your turn.

Jedi master

At 17th level, your connection with the force is complete. You gain the following benefits:

Innate Magic. When you cast a jedi spell, you do not need any components.

Lightsaber adept. Your lightsaber scores a critical hit on a roll of 19-20.

Willful force. You gain resistane to force damage, and you can't be possessed or teleported against your will.

All-seeing. You always know if a creature is lying to you, and you can see any invisible creatures within 5ft of you.
